Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governorsโ€™ Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the โ€œfounder of a new Nigeriaโ€ during a Sallah homage paid by APC governors to the President at his Lagos residence.

Speaking on behalf of the governors, Uzodimma said Tinubuโ€™s economic reforms had rescued Nigeria from what he called a path of economic collapse and placed the country on the road to stability and recovery. He also rated the Presidentโ€™s performance at 100 percent, commending policies such as subsidy removal, fiscal reforms, and efforts to stabilize the economy.

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday held a closed-door meeting with fellow party chieftain and former presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, at his Lagos residence as efforts intensify to unite the party after its recently concluded presidential primary.

Reports indicate that the meeting focused on reconciliation, party cohesion, and strengthening the ADC ahead of the 2027 general election. Hayatu-Deen had earlier expressed reservations about the conduct of the partyโ€™s presidential primary, alongside former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, citing alleged irregularities in the process.

Following the meeting, Atiku said both leaders agreed on the need to work together in what he described as the task of โ€œreclaiming and rebuilding Nigeria,โ€ while party insiders view the engagement as part of broader consultations aimed at healing post-primary divisions and consolidating support within the opposition coalition.
