SHORT HISTORY OF A GREAT CLUB @47.......IFE KLUB-1 OF NIGERIA
(Egbe Ife L'akoda Aiye)!!!
A notable and outstanding Ile-ife club formed in 1977, by young ile ife indigines, residing in Lagos.Young Ahmed Omisore who just then returned from UK, in 1975,having followed his uncle, Chief Engr Iyiola Mosa Omisore to meetings of Egbe omo ife, Lagos at Late chief Denloye's house@onipanu area of Lagos for sometime felt unsatisfied with the pace of these elders, thought of the need for ife youth forum, in Lagos, he thus contacted Oyewole Olowomojuore who was already established in Lagos, then Editor of Atoka yoruba magazine@Academy press, ilupeju, Lagos, about his dream of setting up an Ife club bringing together young ifes residing in Lagos.Thus this great club was founded, by these two intiators.At conception, the club was christened, IFE CLUB 001- to express that "ife l'akoda aiye"concept. Olowomojuore was its first president,Moses Adedoyin, former MD, IBTC/CHARTERED Bank) as Vice president, Ahmed Omisore(an Advert6 Executive)was Gen Secretary.The club was very popular around Lagos, many young ifes rushed to the club.In 1979, Omisore became president, he renamed the club, IFE KLUB-1 OF NIGERIA, backed by heavy publicity in the mass media using his profession and high media connections to promote the club. He created Club banners,Membership car stickers, Membership certificate.
Over the years had a lot of achievements to it's credit, Some are:
1.CONSTRUCTION & DONATION OF DOUBLE SIDED BILLBOARD This club designed and erected a large Billboard@town outskir
ts on Ife-ibadan road, with a message"WELCOME/GOODBYE TO ILE-IFE(Cradle of yoruba race)".The club displayed unity and friendliness among themselves and a delight to watch,at parties or on meeting venues, so much that anytime a member have a ceremony in ife, the circle of such member, outshines others, with the club banner strategically displayed.The popularity of the club encouraged other ifes.... which encouraged,many other clubs to emerge in Lagos,many other cities and@the homefront,ile ife, in particular. . ... IFE KLUB-1, was so popular then,that parents@home were sending messages to their sons in Lagos, recommending this club as a society their sons ought to join... In the last forty years..it is on record the contributions of this great club to the Socio-economic development of Ile ife and environs,some of
which are as follows:
2.POPULARISING OLOJO FESTIVAL
At the coronation of Oba Okunade Sijuwade(OLUBUSE ll)in 1980,the club took it upon itself for many years to e Olojo festival across Nigeria,and participated actively rounding the festival with Olojo Dance.
3.CONSTRUCTION/ DONATION & ER****ON OF STREET NAME SIGNPOSTS.
The Club constructed Street name signposts and erected all over town,thus making identification easier for visitors,c coming into town.It was a laudable club project of the early '80s.
OTHER PROJECTS OF THE CLUB.
4.ANNUAL COMMUNITY & MARKET CLEANING EXERCISE..With members actively participating educating and leading Ile ife,market women.
5.DONATION OF REFUSE DRUMS.
Over 40 club branded refuse drums were constructed and presented to the Local government council,B anks,OAUTH,Banks and other corporate bodies thus encouraging hygienic habits.
6.DONATION OF TRAFFIC STANDS.
The Club donated 4 police traffic stands to the Nigerian police,for easier traffic control and to provide shelter for on traffic duties.
7.SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME.
The Club has continued to offer scholarship scheme and today many beneficiaries are now holding Top positions today,while some are in universities across the country.
8.CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT: DONATIONS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.
The Club at a point donated musical instruments to our local legend,Late Chief Durojaiye Aremu,to enhance the output of his music and in return,the legend waxed a record,in honour of the club(Ori mi bami se).
9.DONATION OF COMPUTER SET TO IFE ACTION COUNCIL.
Our club in appreciation of the important role being played by the body,donated the unit to aide,secretarial duties of the body.
10.INAUGURATION OF UNITED KINGDOM CHAPTER
Due to demands from Ile ife indigenes abroad,the U.K chapter was inaugurated and with it's own local President and Executive...The United states chapter,is due for inauguration soon.
11.CLUB HOUSE DEVELOPMENT@ILE-IFE.
The Ile ife club house,phase one,project,with building,just roofed is on the ifewara road by Omitoto Line 1,was begun many years ago is begging for support,to make it habitable before the end of 2022 and to be of use for members,friends and the Ile ife community.We look up to the support of our Patrons,Matrons and lovers of our club.

Today,the club is now populated and rejuvenated by young,energetic and dedicated ife youths under the able control and leadership of President,Barrister Bisi Ogundipe,who just passed the banner of office to Chief Ayoola Adeyefa March 2024
ELDERS & TRUSTEES
To allow modern day youths to take over the running of the club,oldies have been honourably upgraded into Elders and Trustee categories,who merely act as advisers to the new youthful leadership.
The Klub also have lots of their members installed as Obas,e.g Late H.R.H Oba Adedokun Ademiluyi and Oba Adeyera All making the club proud in their various domains.
CLUB HOUSE
In Ile ife,the Klub’s Club house is at Ilode No 1 Omitoto Line 2,before the Technical school,with Phase one of the Project completed and before the end of 2024,we would have been put into a habitable shape by the new Executive under our able President Adeyefa and his Vice;Prince Kunle Omisore.
AVAILABILITY TO IFES WORLDWIDE
New members are being welcomed daily into the great club at it's various chapters across the world like, Lagos, London, Abuja,Americas and Ile ife(Home base)while Ife indigines in faraway locations are being allowed DISTANT MEMBERSHIP or even given chance(franchise) to set up own chapters in various countries of residence by simply seeking permission from the leadership of the Klub at home-base.
KLUB-1 HOME CHAPTER
Exactly Sunday,the 28th April 2024,the Home base Ife chapter shall be inaugurated,with own a Executive,headed by a Chairman responsible to the National President;Chief Ayoola Adeyefa.The Home base shall be saddled with the running of the club house,under the able control of the National president...Dynamic & patriotic Ife youths-What are you waiting for?
