Respite For Obosi, Anambra State Government Brokers Peace

Government of Anambra State has embarked on fact finding mission to provide respite and entrench peace in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Following the unfortunate incident in the community by operatives of the Special Anti-Touting Squad, SASA, a government delegation, led by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, were part of a town hall meeting with members of the community.
While stating that government has launched investigation into the matter, Professor Chukwulobelu expressed regret and condemned the act, while accepting that the operatives exceeded their boundaries, pointed out that the perpetrators will be brought to book and assured that the operations of SASA will be reorganized, to prevent future occurrences.
The Traditional Ruler of Obosi and State Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers' Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka alleged that SASA has been infiltrated, that the bad eggs should be weeded out, just as the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, Mayor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Mr. Stanley Nkwoka, President General of Obosi, Barr. Chimezie Obi, Lady Philo Onwualu, Mrs Chuke Stella and Chief Alex Omezie stated that the community have a good working relationship with Governor Soludo's administration and variously urged the state government to ban SASA operations in Obosi.
State government made a commitment to cater for the damages incurred as a result of the unfortunate incident.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Barr. Alex Obiogbolu was also part of the delegation that attended the meeting, prior to which they were conducted round the damaged facilities and vehicles.
