When I became a Christian, my father in the Lord was an extremely powerful man of God. Those who knew him, they know. Probably because he was coming from the background of the Aladura (Prayer warriors). He encouraged that you do your own praying for yourself. Pray for yourself, become a prayer warrior yourself. So there wasn't too much of laying on of hands except when they are ordaining you. But there was something in me that says, "I'm doing fine, but I can do better." And then I heard about a man called Kenneth Hagin, and I heard about raw miracles, you know, that you will see face to face. Not a question of you take it by faith.
So we traveled to America. I was willing to pay any price. When we got there, we saw what he said, truly. The lame walking, etc., etc., etc. And I made up my mind, "I'm not going back to Africa until I see this man." And they told me, "Ah, he doesn't have time." But there are about 17,000 people from all over the world who attend his program. He has no time to attend to individuals. I said, "Huh, this one, he will attend to me."
How many of you are desperate for God? How many of you are desperate for a touch from the Almighty God? You'll get one tonight.
One way or the other. To cut a long story short, because some of you have heard it before. I got an appointment to see him after the program is over. And quite a few of my friends who came with me, who came from Nigeria, joined me. You know this story.
Finally, we saw him. They told us, "Maximum 15 minutes." Fine!
So as soon as we got to his office, the first fellow said, "Okay, what can I do for you?" One fellow said, "I want to be distributing your books in Africa." "Fine."
Another, "I want to be distributing your tapes." "Fine."
Another, "I want to be distributing your magazine." "Fine."
Finally, he came to me, the one who booked the appointment. "What do you want?" I said, "Sir, everything that is in you, that makes you you, that's what I want." He said, "What?"
"You're the one who has, and I know what I want." So he called in his secretary, "This fellow wants books, give him books. This one wants tape, give him tapes. This one wants magazines, give him magazines." And told the people to follow the secretary out of the office. Then he turned to me, he said, "Young man, kneel down." "Yes, sir." And I knelt down. And he got up from his chair and came towards me. I saw him coming. I saw his hand. As the hands were approaching me, they got bigger and bigger, and he put the hands on my head. That's all I remember. When I woke up, I was on the floor. He was kneeling by me, praying furiously in the Holy Spirit. By the time he stopped, I knew I got what I wanted. I knew I got what I wanted. So by the time I got to the plane, I spoke to God, "If I get to Nigeria and I don't see you doing everything I've seen you doing here, I'm going to say you're a racist." Because that man is white and I'm black. So anyway, that's part of the story.
Last year, and I had a rough idea... God is telling me to tell you this because something spectacular is about to happen in the life of someone.
Last year, after 45 years, I was back in Tulsa to do some things with our churches there. We have more than one parish there now. And I decided I will visit the campus of Kenneth Hagin. I got there. His son, firstborn, received me and decided to show me around the office. And took me to the office of Papa, and the place had been sealed off since the old man died. He said, "Sir, once Papa died, the moment we took him out of this office, nobody had ever entered this office again since then. But I've heard about you and him, so I'm opening the place." I said, "Good."
So he opened the place, and we got in. And I was showing him when we got into the real office, I said, "This is the place where I fell down when he laid hands on me." That was his chair that he got off from. And then suddenly he said, "Go and sit on the chair." I said, "What?" He said, "Since he died, nobody had sat on the chair. Go and sit on the chair." And then I knew maybe there was something the old man didn't release because you don't want to empty yourself completely. And whatever it was, was left behind on the chair.
And after 45 years, God brought me there to pick it up. I have a deep feeling within me that which remains for you to lay hold of God's purpose for your life, you will receive it tonight.
