I had gone to Ogbete main market with my elder sister to get baby things.
I was down with malaria and was given some drugs, but for some reasons my pregnant belly was wary of drugs, so I started having stomach pains and contracting. I was only at 33 weeks as at then but considering it was weekend, I waited till Tuesday to go to town.
On Tuesday I went all the way from the village where we were staying as at then to the hospital I registered for antenatal in town.
I said to the doctor that I was still feeling sick and couldn't finish my medication cause I started contracting. I was sent for a quick scan and the scan showed I had started dilating. (Not up to 1cm though)
Dilating at 33 weeks kwa. I was worried, the doctor put me on meds to fasten the growth of my baby's lungs incase I kept on dilating, in that way there wouldn't be need for an incubator cause my baby was already at 2.4kg.
I slept off at my mums place in town and the next 2 days I went to the market to get baby things should the baby come before time.
And thank God hubby had already sent me money before then knowing how worried I was about it.
I wasn't totally strong but I insisted on going cause I didn't want to miss getting my baby things this time around having to have missed it during my first sons delivery.
We met a woman that sold baby things right at the entrance and went straight to her shop without going through the stress of touring the market.
Luckily for us her prices were very fair.
