Autism parents, I want to hear from you. ❤️

If you homeschool your autistic child—or you're thinking about starting—what is your BIGGEST challenge right now?

Is it:

1️⃣ Knowing where to start
2️⃣ Knowing what to teach
3️⃣ Getting your child to sit and engage
4️⃣ Communication and speech
5️⃣ Creating a daily routine
6️⃣ Finding activities that actually work
7️⃣ Keeping up with everything as a parent
8️⃣ Something else?

Tell me in the comments. 👇🏽

Your answers may help me create something practical that can make homeschooling a little easier for other autism parents. ❤️

If you found out your child is autistic, would that change your decision about having another child?”

Helping an autistic child learn to write ✍️💙

Writing doesn’t always start with putting a pencil on paper.

For some autistic children, we may need to build the skills that come before writing first.

Play therapy can be a great way to prepare your child. Encourage activities that strengthen hand muscles, coordination, attention, and the ability to follow simple instructions. Let your child play, explore, hold different objects, scribble, draw, trace, and practise using their hands without putting too much pressure on them.

Start small. Celebrate every attempt. ❤️

Remember, every child develops at their own pace. What works for one child may not work exactly the same way for another.

The goal is not to force writing. The goal is to help the child develop the skills and confidence needed to eventually write.

If you're an autism parent, save this video and share it with another parent who may need it. 💙

Nobody Prepared Me for This

Nobody prepared me for the emotional side of raising an autistic child. 💙

The diagnosis is only one part of the journey.

Then comes the explaining.
The correcting.
The unsolicited advice.
The judgment.
The constant need to help people understand that your child isn't simply being “stubborn” or “bad.”

Sometimes, you're learning your child while also trying to teach the world how to understand them.

And honestly? That can be exhausting.

But I'm learning that my children don't need to fit into everybody else's idea of “normal.”

They need to feel safe.
They need to be understood.
They need someone willing to listen—even when they can't communicate in the way we expect.

This is the REAL autism journey. Not perfect. Not easy. But filled with love, learning, and growth. 💙

If you're raising an autistic child, what is one thing you wish someone had told you at the beginning of your journey?

There was a version of me before autism entered my life.

She worried about ordinary things.

She thought motherhood would be difficult, but she had no idea how deeply it could stretch her emotionally, physically and mentally.

Then I became an autism mom.

And I changed.

I learned to celebrate things other parents might not even notice.

A new word.

A new skill.

A successful therapy session.

A moment of eye contact.

A child finally communicating what they need.

Things that may look small to someone else can feel enormous to me.

I've also cried.

I've questioned myself.

I've felt exhausted.

I've had moments where I wondered if I was doing enough.

But somehow, I keep getting back up.

Not because I'm superhuman.

Because these children are mine.

And every day, I'm learning that being their mother isn't about having all the answers.

Sometimes it's simply about showing up again tomorrow.

So if you see an autism mom smiling, laughing or posting online, please remember:

You may be seeing the smile…

but you don't always see everything it took for her to get there. ❤️

I am still learning. Still growing. Still becoming.

And I'm sharing this journey because somewhere out there, another mother needs to know she isn't alone.

As an autism mom one thing I never take for granted is my gut.
I trust it even more than people around me.
My advise to a mom asking to withdraw her child from school👇.
