Cross Riverians are for peace, brotherliness and togetherness, but the problem here, is Akwa Ibomites want to grab all, leaving Cross River with nothing.
Fellow Akwa Ibomites, make we calm down with all these unnecessary noise and insults about Calabar and Cross River State.
Truth be told, Cross River has carried many of us for years — from business opportunities to peaceful coexistence. A lot of Akwa Ibom people built their lives there, and the state welcomed us without discrimination.
Let’s also be honest: over 80% of the food we enjoy in Akwa Ibom comes from Cross River farmers. So why insult the same people and state that contribute massively to our survival? It doesn’t make sense.
We keep bragging about “beautiful roads” and “infrastructure” in Akwa Ibom, but how has that improved the average man’s pocket? Even our oil revenue is controlled by a few elites while the common citizen still struggles. Instead of turning our energy into insults, let’s focus on collaboration and development.
Meanwhile, Efio Ette Roundabout in Calabar is currently wearing a brand-new look ahead of the yuletide season — a reminder that Cross River is still pushing, still developing, still welcoming.
Let peace lead. Let respect lead.
We are brothers. We are neighbours.
Let love replace unnecessary rivalry.
