📰 FUTA Appoints Prof. Kolawole Oladunmoye as Dean of School of Life Sciences

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the appointment of Professor Muftau Kolawole Oladunmoye as the new Dean of the School of Life Sciences. The appointment, which takes effect from August 1, 2025, is for a period of two years.

Prof. Oladunmoye's appointment follows his election by the School's Board of Studies and subsequent approval by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji.

Prof. Oladunmoye, a seasoned academic and researcher, brings over two decades of experience to the role. He holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology from FUTA and has risen through the ranks to become a Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Details of his profile reveal that Prof. Oladunmoye has a strong research background, with expertise in antimicrobial chemotherapy. He has published over 115 research articles and has supervised numerous postgraduate students.

The new Dean has also secured several national and international research grants, including FUTA Senate Research Grants and TETFUND Institution Based Research (IBR) grants.

Within the university, Prof. Oladunmoye has served in various capacities, including Head of the Department of Microbiology, Acting Dean of Student Affairs, and Member of the University Senate.

FUTA OPENS POST-UTME REGISTRATION FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the commencement of online registration for Post-UTME screening for the 2025/2026 academic session. The registration exercise, which starts on Friday, July 25, 2025, and ends on Friday, August 28, 2025, is open to candidates who scored a minimum of 180 in the 2025 UTME and made FUTA their first choice institution.

According to the University's Registrar, C.O. Adeleye, candidates are required to possess at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings in O'level examinations conducted by WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB or their equivalent.

To register, candidates are to visit the University's website, complete and submit the Post-UTME Application Form online, and print out a copy of the Registration Form. A screening fee of N2,000 is payable at any Bank on Remita platform after generating the necessary code.

The University warns that candidates who fail to register within the stipulated period will not be eligible for the screening exercise. Additionally, candidates must ensure that their O'level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS and share FUTA on or before August 28, 2025.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Minimum JAMB score of 180
- FUTA as first choice institution
- 5 O'level credits (including English & Math)

REGISTRATION DETAILS
- Online registration via FUTA website
- Screening fee: N2,000 payable via Remita platform
- Registration period: July 25 - August 28, 2025

AGE REQUIREMENT
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025.
