Nigeria is the world’s fourth-largest cocoa producer, contributing approximately 6.5% of global cocoa production, trailing behind Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Indonesia. Cocoa is a major agricultural export for Nigeria, playing a critical role in the economy, particularly in non-oil foreign exchange earnings. The industry supports over 300,000 smallholder farmers, primarily in the southwestern states of Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Ekiti, as well as southern states like Cross River and Akwa Ibom. Despite its importance, the sector faces challenges such as aging trees, low yields, pest and disease issues, poor infrastructure, and climate change impacts.

Earlier today, I spent some quality time with corps members at the Niger State NYSC Orientation Camp, Paiko. It was an exciting moment to chat and share great optimism with our youth in service. Before I left the camp, we ate and danced together, shared jokes and generally related in an atmosphere of friendship. As I have done in every other camps that I have visited so far, I again reassured corps members in Niger State that President Bola Tinubu administration would not fail the youth.

Last week, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) confirmed Mrs Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola as the Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Yesterday, I led the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB) to decorate her alongside six Deputy Comptrollers General of the Sevice.

From their antecedents, I am convinced they will bring their experience and expertise to the fore towards a greater Immigration Service Nigeria and Nigerians will be proud of.

Oh wow, I just heard some amazing news about the oil and gas sector in Nigeria! The sector is receiving a major boost with two massive investment deals. Firstly, an India-based company called Fox Petroleum has committed to investing a staggering $.5 billion in Nigeria's NNPC Limited over the next three years. This is a significant partnership that could have a positive impact on the industry.

Secondly, a US firm called Baker Hughes has announced its interest in investing in Nigerian oil refineries. This shows a strong vote of confidence in Nigeria's potential and highlights the attractiveness of the country's oil and gas sector to international investors.
