Different stampedes within days!
In the process of sharing food stuffs!

There’s hunger in the land and at this point,
there’s nothing we can do to cover the obvious!

Serious measures should be taken before any further charity work invitations!
A whole lot of people are going to come!
Let these authorities not think it is going to be like before when a few people come to take food!

But the truth remains we can continue to pretend that the obvious is not the reality!
And the reality is that a very large chunk of the citizens are hungry!

My prayers is with the deceased and their families!
May their souls rest in peace!

SATURDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT
Luke 1:39-45

Today’s gospel Mary travelled to the hill country,
to the town called Judah!
To see her cousin sister Elizabeth!
She has heard of the good news!

The travel was a long one and I see it as a journey!

A journey of love!
A journey of happiness!
A journey of humility!

Mary’s visit,
showed and reiterated her love for Elizabeth!
Her visit showed her happiness for the good that has happened to Elizabeth!
And finally her long visit despite being herself pregnant with the savior,
showed humility!
Elizabeth was surprised that the mother of the savior would visit her!

No matter the mother or father of who you are!
No matter the manager of who you are!
No matter the owner or contractor of who you are!
Let the humility and selflessness of Mary be your watch word!!!

THURSDAY OF THE 3rd WEEK OF ADVENT judges 13:2-7,24-25
Luke 1:5-25

Blessings do not just come alone!
Most times they come with missions!
Missions do not come alone too!
Most times they come with sacrifices!
These sacrifices most times become the covenant between us and God!

The two readings today,
gives us an account of the blessings to Manoa and the wife and to Zechariah and Elizabeth in their old age respectively!

Samson and John the Baptist were the blessings!
These blessings came with missions!
Samson to deliver Israel from the Palestines and John to be a forerunner to Jesus!

Then the sacrifice!
No razor shall touch Samson’s head!
John would drink neither wine or strong drink!

For the man God has blessed,
he as well sends on a mission and sacrifices must be made!

What are those sacrifices you and I need to make as a result of our different blessings and in our missions!
The things we are supposedly supposed to stay away from!

There is that one sacrifice to be made for the sake of Christ and his mission for you to the world!!!

How much are we keeping up with it!

WEDNESDAY OF THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT
Mathew 1:18-25

RIGHTEOUS MAN…
Today’s gospel(Mathew 1:18-25)
It became clear that Mary was with child.
It was strange to Joseph,
he was not responsible.

The beautiful thing about this story.
The Bible said,
since he was a righteous man,
he never wanted to expose her to shame.
He decided to divorce her quietly.

TO BE RIGHTEOUS…
Today Joseph gives us a pathway or route to righteousness…
Many would have disgraced Mary or
called the community to hear.
In his righteousness,
he was calm,
he was reflective,
he still loved Mary that he wouldn’t do her wrong.
Even when he felt betrayed by her he still wouldn’t do his worst.

In his righteousness Jesus never hated or disgraced us,
dispite our shortcomings.

To be righteous here becomes even deeper and clearer!
To be righteous is to be humane, merciful and understanding!

FINALLY
Your most dissapointing moment in life,
might be deeper than you think.
May be God is actually bringing you an Emmanuel or there’s an Emmanuel at the end of the tunnel.
Imagine how disappointed Joseph was!
The woman of his dreams,
having a child that is not his.

It might not really be a disappointment,
it might be God telling you
“Emmanuel”
That he is with you…

In your eyes it might be disappointment,
but not with God,
for with God dissapointments turn to blessings!

In Nigeria,
the minute you accumulate wealth and no matter how,
you immidiately turn a philosopher!
Dishing out nonsense!
With whitewashed individuals circulating you, clapping, hailing and nodding
their head in unism!

Wealth doesn’t make one a philosopher in saner climes!!!

Success used to be
a gradual process!

A process people looked forward to taking!
In faith and
hardwork!

These days!
It's gradually no longer a process!

It has rather become an acrobatics!
A jump!
A jump to bypass the process!

Many have jumped to their death!
Others jumped into things they can no longer get out of!

Jumping might get you there!
But you wouldn't understand,
certain things about success because you avoided the process!

Don't join the wagon!
Be yourself!
Take the process!
Work hard!
And pray!

Some days ago,
I accompanied a friend to pick his youngest brother at the airport!

I saw this plumpy looking young man with a well rounded round and big belly!
I feel packs of money in that stomach!

At once I knew this must be one of our brothers coming home from abroad!
You know nah!
The types of Ejike Cambodia!
Emeka na China and the rest!

The next thing that caught my mind was the bold inscription on his shirt
"Hide your girlfriends"

Apparently the inscription says it all!

This December,
The Ejikes and Emekas are coming back with loads of money!

Please hold what you have tightly!

Dear Ejike Cambodia,
please we know you have plenty pounds and dollars to spend!
But please leave people's women alone!
Don't take what is not yours!
Don't extort!

Last sunday's reading we saw how John the Baptist clearly said it!
"Don't extort or take what is not yours and be contented with what you have"

Just come back home safely and quietly and don't use your expensive dollars to impress and opress!

TUESDAY OF THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT
Mathew 1:1-7

Today, we get served with the genealogy of Jesus, according to the gospel of St Mathew(1:1-7)

My first time in the Junior seminary was eventful.
My mum would tell me,
before dropping me at my new school and environment
"Remember where you come from"

Remembering where you come from can be the energy, inspiration we need to be cautious and progressive in life.
It led me.
Yes it did

Yes!
Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.
But the Jesus who is to come, is never an Island.
For no man is.
Yes he came from somewhere...

Some make it in life, then suddenly they begin to feel they are on their own.
They feel they come from no where.
Even Jesus came from somewhere.
Yes

What more do we learn here......
You can bring your generation to the limelight positively.
Who knows,
without the positive influence of Jesus, who would have known some of these men, whose name came up today...

It doesn't matter where you come from, you can make it in life.
Yes God can make a way where there's no way...
Yes he can do.

Finally, before you equally take that very bad decision, remember it can aswell design and redesign the name of those who come before and after you.

Some days ago I watched Ademola Lookman,
on an interview saying,
the decision to play for Nigerian changed everything for him!
It was success upon success ever since!

Leaving England to play for Nigeria was never going to be easy!

Many will say he only chose Nigeria after his career stalled and the England opportunity vanquished!

The truth is,

There is a place where everyone of us is going to prosper!
God never told Abraham to change his location for nothing!
There was a reason!

Many are on the cross road of making that decision or not!
The pain that comes with it!
The regrets!
The comparisons!
The ifs!

I pray God takes us all to the place where everything will begin to change for good!!!
