Suspension of SUG President Pending Investigation

The Students’ Representative Assembly, at its sitting on 10th May 2026, has suspended the SUG President from office with immediate effect for 5 weeks.

Reason: Serious allegations of financial misconduct, including unauthorized withdrawals, discrepancies in accounts, and failure and blatant refusal to provide SUG account's bank statements for investigation.

What this means
1. All Union properties/documents are to be handed over to the VP SUG.
2. The President is to stop all official duties and representation.
3. An investigative panel will be set up. The outcome will determine reinstatement or further action.

The SRA is committed to transparency and due process. Students are urged to remain calm.
