MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND HOW IT HELPED ME IMPROVE.

My friend was driving a Jeep, a very expensive one then... He decided to get a small car to compliment the jeep.

We spoke to a friend in Lagos and he connected us to someone who sells cars in VI, Lagos. Normally, we weren't supposed to trust Lagos dealers, but because we trust the person that refered that dealer.

Now, my friend told me to follow him to Lagos so we can pay for the car and bring it home and we concluded to go in my car.

We filled the tank, started the journey, got to VI and had to lodge in an hotel.

The following day, we went to meet the dealer, concluded the deal and made transfer and we were supposed to start our journey back to Ibadan.

Then, we realized we've made a very very big mistake! I mean a very very big mistake...

I just started driving few weeks before, I don't even know how to reverse.

Though I learnt very fast and my hand was straight, buy I just didn't even have the confidence to drive from Abeokuta to Ibadan talkless of driving from Lagos state to Ibadan... On Lagos-ibadan expressway that is always full of trucks and trailers.

Now, we were having two cars, with one professional driver (my friend) and an amateur driver (me).

What do we do? How can we get home? We really made a mistake and didn't think I through before embarking on the journey.

We thought of hiring a professional driver that could drive the second car, we didn't see anyone. We thought of getting a towing vehicle to tow the second car and it proved abortive.

Then, I decided that.... I should drive the second car (my car). The plan is for me to drive the car slowly (possibly at 60km/hr) till I get to berger or first tow gate so we can lodge and rest till the second day or even call someone from home to meet us and help out.

We started the journey, my friend was in the front.

After driving at 60km/hr for 30mins, my speed increased to 80km/he and gradually to 100km/hr, then to 120km/hr.

I couldn't believe i reached 160km/hr in the journey.. I had reached Berger before I called my friend to ask where he was, he was still very far back from me. (My car moved faster than his)

This was crazy! I couldn't believe I drove from Lagos to Ibadan as a complete amateur.

This made me to understand that driving isn't hard, only confidence is needed... I mean, driving is so simple, you only need the confidence to start and keep going, confidence to know how to drive when facing trailer... Etc.

From that moment till now, I have become so good at driving that I can drive anywhere.

I can use left hand or right hand alone to drive with full speed and nothing will happen.

It is a crazy one, but it taught me that nothing is impossible.

This story is shared to inspire those who wants to start or learn a skill but are thinking that it will be hard and difficult to learn one.

Some due to their age, some due to anxiety, trauma, pain or are affected by inflation.

Trust me, you only need to start and you will see how easy it is.

The more you think about starting without actually starting, the more time you are wasting... Your clients are waiting to pay you!!!...
