INYA REAFFIRMS NON-PARTISAN STANCE, SAYS ISOKO INTEREST REMAINS PARAMOUNT

“We Will Follow Leaders Who Bring Peace and Development to Isoko Nation” — Orogun

By BTV Naija News Desk

WARRI, DELTA STATE — The President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) Worldwide, Comr. Eniwake Orogun, has reaffirmed the organisation's non-partisan stance, stressing that the collective interest, peace, unity, and development of Isoko Nation remain its primary concerns.

Orogun stated this when the INYA Executive Council paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Oghenekome Reginald Okpobor, at the Commission's headquarters.

The meeting focused on youth leadership, community development, empowerment, political participation, and opportunities for stronger collaboration between Isoko youths and stakeholders.

Speaking on INYA's position ahead of the 2027 general elections, Orogun said the Assembly would continue to engage political leaders constructively but would remain guided by the collective interest of Isoko Nation.

“We will follow our leaders who walk in the direction that will only bring peace and development to Isoko Nation and distance ourselves from any leader on a selfish course,” he said.

The INYA President emphasised that the Assembly's engagement with political leaders and government officials should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any candidate or political aspirant.

According to him, INYA, as an organisation, does not endorse candidates. Its responsibility is to provide responsible youth leadership, advocate for the interests of Isoko youths, promote peace and unity, and engage stakeholders on issues that can advance the development of Isoko Nation.

Orogun added that the Assembly would continue to maintain its institutional independence while recognising and supporting policies, programmes, and leadership initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to the people.

Also speaking, the Vice President of INYA Worldwide, Comr. Ogege Moses, commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as the administration's visible impact across Isoko Nation.

Ogege noted that several state government projects and interventions had addressed infrastructure and human-capital needs across Isoko North and Isoko South.

He specifically referenced the Emevor–Orogun Road, stating that the first phase of the project had been completed while the second phase had also received approval.

He also mentioned the College of Health Technology at Ovrode, Isoko North, as well as the ongoing College of Health Sciences project at Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro.

“Governor Oborevwori has done well in Isoko,” Ogege said, adding that INYA would continue to recognise and appreciate developmental efforts that positively impact the people.

He stressed that remaining non-partisan does not prevent the Assembly from acknowledging genuine development wherever it occurs.

Earlier, Chief Okpobor called for greater unity among the Isoko people ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged Isoko youths to demonstrate political maturity and place the collective interest of Isoko Nation above personal considerations.

The DESOPADEC executive also disclosed plans for an empowerment programme in the coming weeks and assured the INYA leadership that the youth body would be fully involved.

Orogun expressed appreciation to Chief Okpobor for receiving the delegation and for his willingness to collaborate with INYA on empowerment and development initiatives.

The delegation included the INYA Vice President, Comr. Ogege Moses; Secretary, Comr. Emumena Governor; Speaker, Comr. Oghale Christian; Deputy Speaker, Comr. Phillips Isodje; Woman Leader, Oboghor Uzezi Vivian; Director of Media, Comr. John Jephthah; and other members of the Executive Council.

‎ISOKO YOUTH GROUPS MOUNT PRESSURE ON ENIWAKE OROGUN TO CONTEST FOR HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

‎Groups Want INYA President to Represent Isoko North Constituency II

‎By BTV News Desk

‎OZORO, DELTA STATE – Pressure is mounting on the President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) Worldwide, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly seat representing Isoko North Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.

‎The growing calls are reportedly coming from youth groups and supporters across Isoko North Constituency II, who believe Orogun's years of youth leadership, grassroots mobilisation, advocacy, and community engagement have prepared him for a transition into formal political representation.

‎Supporters describe the INYA President as a prominent youth voice who has consistently championed issues concerning education, skills acquisition, employment, youth empowerment, community development, and greater participation of young people in governance.

‎According to the groups, his experience leading a pan-Isoko youth organisation has exposed him to the aspirations and challenges of young people across the constituency and positioned him to provide what they describe as “fresh, energetic and purposeful representation.”

‎The renewed calls also come amid growing demands for greater youth participation in elective governance, with supporters insisting that young people should not only participate in politics as campaigners and mobilisers but should also occupy positions where they can directly influence legislation and public policy.

‎Some of the supporters have reportedly adopted the message:

‎“The time is now.”

‎They are urging Orogun to listen to the voices coming from the constituency and declare his intention to seek the House of Assembly seat.

‎However, as of the time of this report, Comrade Eniwake Orogun has not publicly confirmed his intention to contest the Isoko North Constituency II seat.

‎The growing pressure nevertheless places the INYA President at an interesting political crossroads, as supporters increasingly look towards him to take his leadership experience from youth advocacy into legislative representation.

‎If he decides to heed the call, the proposed candidacy could introduce a fresh dimension to the political contest in Isoko North Constituency II, particularly around youth representation, grassroots development, education, employment, and community-focused legislation.

‎For now, the question gaining momentum among supporters is simple:

‎Will Eniwake Orogun answer the call and contest for Isoko North Constituency II?

ISOKO NORTH CHAIRMAN OGORUGBA CELEBRATES INYA PRESIDENT ENIWAKE OROGUN AT BIRTHDAY, HAILS HIS LEADERSHIP AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

By BTV Naija News Desk

OZORO, DELTA STATE – The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has congratulated the President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) Worldwide, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

In a goodwill message released to newsmen in Ozoro, the Council Chairman described Orogun as a patriotic Isoko son whose leadership has continued to promote unity, direction, and responsible representation for Isoko youths both at home and in the diaspora.

Ogorugba said the INYA President has distinguished himself as a reference point for responsible youth leadership in Delta State, particularly through his commitment to constructive engagement and community development.

The Council boss commended Orogun for what he described as his commitment to intellectual activism and non-violent engagement, noting that the youth leader has consistently embraced dialogue and constructive advocacy rather than confrontation.

According to him, this leadership approach has earned Orogun respect across Isoko Nation and strengthened the credibility of the youth body under his leadership.

Ogorugba further praised the INYA President's vision for youth development, particularly his emphasis on education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and capacity building.

He noted that prioritising these areas would help reduce youth idleness, create opportunities for self-reliance, and prepare a new generation of Isoko leaders for greater responsibilities.

The Isoko North Chairman also acknowledged Orogun's contribution to promoting peace and unity across the ten clans of Isoko Nation.

He attributed the relative peace and progress being experienced across the area partly to the youth leader's humility, respect for constituted authority, loyalty, and commitment to building bridges among stakeholders.

Describing Orogun as a “role model to many young leaders and a grassroots youth mobiliser,” Ogorugba said his contributions to youth mobilisation and community development were worthy of emulation.

He added that the Isoko National Youth Assembly under Orogun's leadership has remained focused, organised, and solution-driven in advancing issues affecting young people.

The Council Chairman prayed to God Almighty to grant the celebrant sound health, greater wisdom, long life, and continued grace to serve the people.

He expressed confidence that Orogun would continue to make meaningful contributions to the development of Isoko Nation, Delta State, and Nigeria.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Isoko North LGA, I rejoice with my brother, Comr. Eniwake Orogun, on this auspicious occasion. May this new age bring you more grace to serve our people. Congratulations and Happy Birthday, my brother,” Hon. Ogorugba concluded.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES UP TO 80% SALARY INCREASE FOR ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL

By BTV Naija News Desk

ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new salary structure for personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, with pay increases ranging from 30 to 80 per cent, in a move aimed at boosting troop welfare and strengthening the country's security architecture.

The approval, announced in a State House statement issued on Tuesday by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, will benefit approximately 250,000 military personnel across various ranks.

Under the new arrangement, which takes effect from September 1, 2026, officers above the rank of Colonel—including Brigadier Generals, Major Generals, Lieutenant Generals, and Generals—will receive a 30 per cent salary increase.

Personnel from the rank of Colonel down to Warrant Officer will enjoy a 50 per cent increase, while soldiers from Private to Staff Sergeant ranks will benefit from an 80 per cent salary increment.

The new pay package is expected to raise the annual salary expenditure for Nigeria's armed forces from ₦660 billion to ₦924 billion, reflecting the Federal Government's commitment to improving the welfare of military personnel.

President Tinubu said the decision was informed by the sacrifices and dedication of members of the armed forces who continue to confront security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities across the country.

“The men and women who help to keep us safe in our homes must be supported and appreciated in the course of their duties to our nation,” the President stated.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritising troop welfare while continuing efforts to modernise the armed forces through the provision of advanced weapons systems, equipment, and technological tools required for effective operations.

“Our administration will continue to prioritise troop welfare and modernise the armed forces by providing the weapons and technological tools needed to discharge their duties,” he said.

The President stressed that national security remains central to Nigeria's development aspirations, noting that no country can achieve sustainable progress without guaranteeing the safety of its citizens and assets.

“Our administration believes that no nation can achieve greatness without security. We therefore remain resolute in mobilising all military and law enforcement assets to eliminate security threats and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians,” Tinubu added.

He also urged members of the armed forces to view the salary increase as a demonstration of the government's appreciation for their service and sacrifice to the nation.

“I urge our servicemen to take our gesture as a sign of our deep appreciation of the services they render to our fatherland. Together, we shall prevail over the enemies intent on destroying the fabric of our nation,” the President said.

The salary adjustment is expected to boost morale among military personnel as Nigeria continues efforts to tackle insecurity and strengthen national defence capabilities.

The documents, now available at designated INEC offices nationwide, contain information submitted by the candidates in support of their nomination for the offices of President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria, is contesting the presidency on the platform of the ADC, while former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has been nominated as the party's vice-presidential candidate.

NIGERIANS SPEND ₦1.7 TRILLION ON MTN DATA, ₦897 BILLION ON VOICE SERVICES IN FIRST HALF OF 2026

By BTV Naija News Desk

LAGOS – Nigerians spent approximately ₦1.7 trillion on data services and ₦897.1 billion on voice calls on the MTN network between January and June 2026, helping the telecommunications giant record a total revenue of ₦2.993 trillion in the first half of the year.

The figures were contained in MTN's half-year financial results, which showed a 26 percent year-on-year increase in revenue, highlighting the growing demand for telecommunications and digital services across Nigeria.

Data services remained the company's largest revenue driver during the period, contributing ₦1.700 trillion, further underscoring the increasing reliance of Nigerians on internet connectivity for business, education, entertainment, and communication.

Voice services followed as the second-largest contributor, generating ₦897.1 billion in revenue.

Other revenue streams recorded by the company included:

SMS Services: ₦112.7 billion

Interconnect and Roaming: ₦112.2 billion

Value-Added Services (VAS): ₦77.1 billion

Digital Services: ₦58.7 billion

Other Revenue: ₦23.9 billion

Handsets and Accessories: ₦11.0 billion

Rental Income: ₦506 million

The financial performance reflects the continued expansion of Nigeria's digital economy and the increasing adoption of mobile internet services by individuals, businesses, and institutions nationwide.

Industry analysts say the dominance of data revenue highlights a major shift in consumer behaviour, with more Nigerians relying on mobile broadband for remote work, social media engagement, online transactions, video streaming, e-learning, and other digital activities.

The strong revenue growth also reinforces the strategic importance of the telecommunications sector to Nigeria's economy, particularly as digital transformation continues to accelerate across various sectors.

With nearly ₦3 trillion in revenue generated within six months, MTN remains one of the country's largest corporate entities and a major player in Nigeria's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
