DELTA CARES PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO OSHIMILI NORTH LGA, DISCUSSES PUBLIC WORK ENGAGEMENT FOR POOR PEOPLE (See Photos)

The Members of Delta Cares under the department of Public Workfare Unit, paid a courtesy call to the leadership of Oshimili North Local Government Area led by Hon. Innocent Esewezie on Thursday, over their upcoming Orientation Training and engagement of the poor in the LGA.

The Delta Cares team during the meeting described the Delta COVID-19 Action Recovery & Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) programme as a United Nations supported Federal Government Initiative (Nigeria Cares), they called on the Council to support their intent to engage poor people in the LGA with a monthly stipend of N20,000 through proper sensitisation.

The Labour Intensive Public Workfare (LIPW) Unit leader made it clear that the selected persons will be chosen from the list of poor people as compiled by the D-CARES body. They solicited the for proper enlightenment as it has proven to be a major shortcoming in the past.

The Secretary to the Local Government, Austin Eloka Ajufo, who represented the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA, welcomed them. He affirmed the continuous support of the council to the activities of the team in their drive to stamp out poverty. He urged them to ensure the continuous update of the poor people's register so as to properly provide help to those who are truly in need of it.

Those present at the meeting include the Supervisory Councillor on Works, Victor Nsolo, Hon Nkem Nwankwo, the Councilor representing Okpanam, the H.O.D. Works, Engr. Mrs Esther Mordi, Pst. Tito Omunizua, Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman and many others.

HON. ESEWEZIE, ONLGA CHAIRMAN KICKS OFF ENVIRONMENTAL TASKFORCE, ENJOINS THEM ON BEST PRACTICES

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA, Hon. Innocent Esewezie on Thursday, alongside the leadership and members of the Environmental Sanitation Taskforce kicked off monitoring and enforcement of sanitation in key areas of the LGA starting with the posting of personnel to assigned beats in Okpanam and Ibusa as other locations are set to follow.

The Taskforce members who were recently inaugurated after diligent training and sensitisation in the past month, were posted to areas like Apo Junction, Marble Hills, Okpanam, Liaison Office Road, Ashia-eke Market, Ibusa amongst others. The beat leaders and units leaders were carefully chosen from amongst the members with their terms of duty carefully enumerated to avoid confrontational tendencies.

The Chairman kicked off the taskforce as he called on them to be creative in carrying out their duties with patience and devoid of controversies. He told them what he expected of them which is no less than dedication to their duties and enjoined them to see the assignment as a platform for growth and service to the people.

While noting that cleanliness is next to Godliness, Esewezie urged them to be good ambassadors of the government as the aim of the Council under his leadership was to make sure that Oshimili North becomes one of the cleanest LGAs in the country.

Amb. Alfred Nwabuwa, was chosen as the team leader from among his pairs. He thanked them for the faith reposed in him as he promised to deliver through hard work and commitment.

HON INNOCENT ESEWEZIE, ONLGA CHAIRMAN RECEIVES YOUTH VANGUARD 4 SHERIFF SUPPORT GROUP, ADMONISHES THEM TO BE YOUTH DRIVEN

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area Council, Hon Innocent Esewezie on Monday received on a courtesy visit the Executives of Youth Vanguard 4 Sheriff Support Group in his office as he admonished them to focus on bringing youths together for the benefit of their principal.

Mr. Owen Nero, the president, who spoke on behalf of the group predominantly made up of youths, said they were at the office of the Council Boss to seek his support in their bid to promote the person of Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whom they described as the best candidate to consolidate on the good work of the Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and move the state forward according to his MORE Agenda.

Hon Esewezie welcomed them, he thanked them for taking it upon themselves to support the ambition of the PDP gubernatorial candidate who has continued to distinguish himself through his track record in politics.

He enjoined them to note that there are many support groups which means they must do things differently in order to reach their set goals. The Council Chairman urged them to focus on bringing the youths close through voter education so as to avoid them being misled through propaganda or false narrative.

The Chairman declared that the two term Speaker is the best candidate to succeed His Excellency, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as governor of Delta State. He pointed out that Hon Oborevwori is a man with the blessings of God who has been moving from glory to glory.

He assured them that he is always available as his office is always open for consultation or advice. He prayed with them and wished them well. Hon. Innocent Esewezie: The Promise keeper and the Ukala miracle

The people’s chairman again has proven that God is with him, with the recent building and commissioning of the Ukala water project.
Ukala is an autonomous kingdom of two agrarian communities, Ukala Okpunor and Ukala-Okwute with its natives and dwellers predominantly farmers.
Ukala Okpunor which has the palace of the Obi of Ukala shares a common boundary with Onicha-Olona in Aniocha North Local Government Area but one touching issue which has been of great concern is that this peaceful and receptive kingdom in Oshimili North L.G.A lacks water due to its geographical terrain which makes it almost impossible for them to drill water.
The people of Ukala has bemoaned their fate for years but history became rewritten when during his campaign tour, the people’s Executive Chairman saw their plight in which he assured to find succur for them.
Then the people saw it like building castles in the air, because for years even when they had their own in charge, nothing was really done.
Then boom, their laments and prayers for many decades suddenly in a matter of days became answered, the global chairman and his worthy team showed up.
Encomiums has continually poured in as both indigenes and settlers cannot hide their joy while hailing this miraculous project and the quality of materials used which is super standard.
The Hon. Innocent Esewezie led administration has not just given them life (because water is life), but a project that would surely stand the test of time. It is a double celebration because through the effort of this administration, a staff of office was given to HRM Obi Clement Ejiofor, the Obi of Ukala kingdom.
In the words of His Royal Majesty, Obi Clement Ejiofor, “I am not a politician but wish to commend the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for finding Hon Innocent Esewezie worthy to be the Council Chairman and for his resilience in delivering his promises unlike the void promises of others, when the times comes, we shall distinguish water from fanta”.
The PDP Oshimili North DTHA candidate for the 2023 election, Barr. Frank Esenwah also confirmed that the people’s chairman is at the forefront of actions in improving livelihoods in the various communities in Oshimili North LGA.
The Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Mr. Olise Ifeajika has also commended his progressive efforts in the transformation of Oshimili North LGA in a short time describing it as a true replication of good governance standard of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa the Governor of Delta State and the vice presidential candidate of PDP at the grassroot and LGA level.
The beautiful and gigantic water project would reduce the burden of the 8km walk taken by the people of Ukala to get water, and by bringing it to their doorstep the action Chairman puts to an end their many years of sorrow.
Ukala water project will bring better inter community relations and benefits; Ezi and other surrounding communities will also fetch and use this water of life. This project is a solace, if you are not from Ukala or based in Ukala you won’t understand, to them Hon. Innocent Esewezie is the answer to their long years of prayer. He has written his name in platinum laced with gold!
Hon. Innocent has truly proven that he is for every community in Oshimili North even as he continues to spread the breath of fresh air and development across Oshimili North. “A leader takes people where they want to go, a great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be” - Rosalynn Carter.
Now we are moving to where we ought to be because of a visionary and great leader Hon. Innocent Esewezie.
The good people of Oshimili North should be of good cheers and fasten their seatbelts as Hon. Innocent Esewezie led administration is geared to pilot Oshimili North to greater heights and altitude.

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area Council, Hon Innocent Esewezie on Sunday, felicitated with the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and the next Governor of Delta State by the grace of God on the auspicious occasion of his birthday.

The Council Boss described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guber candidate as someone who has distinguished himself in service to his people which has earmarked him as not just the only Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly to serve in two terms but also the People's Governor come 2023.

As he celebrates with Hon. Oborevwori, he noted the magnificent role the Speaker has played in the current democratic dispensation especially in all the milestones recorded by the administration of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as both arms of government worked concurrently in service to the people of Delta.

OSHIMILI NORTH LGA HOLDS STRATEGIC SECURITY MEETING AT COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS

In a bid to continue to improve the security situation in the LGA and to ensure that all citizens go about their business without fear, the Chief Security Officer of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esewezie on Wednesday held a meeting with the security architecture of the Council as issues of importance were discussed.

The security meeting afforded the leadership of the Council the opportunity to harness security report, share ideas and deplore new security measures based on the current situation report made available.

The Executive Chairman of the Council implored the officers to continue to give their best so as to ensure that the peace being enjoyed in the local government is not truncated or traded for any form of illegality. He called on the general public to continue to work in synergy with both the government and the police because without valuable information it becomes an unruly task securing our various communities.

Those present at the crucial meeting were the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Austin Eloka Ajufo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Okpanam, CSP. Gambo Ado, the DPO of Ibusa, SP. Chidi Obioji, DPO of GRA, CSP. Edan Gawirnan, the DPO of Illah, SP. Bola Alabi.

Others are Mr. Gabriel Okojie, the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman on Security and Peace Keeping, Comr. Lucky Okolo, the Okpanam Youths President, Olimmah V.I., the Ibusa Youth Council Secretary, the officer in charge of DSS Oshimili North, Representatives of Hausa / Fulani Community in the LGA and a host of other stakeholders.

COUNCIL BOSS VISITS LAND DISPUTE SITE, ORDERS REGULARISATION & DOCUMENTATION OF REVENUE AGENTS TO CURB ABUSE

Noting with sadness the recent escalation the sale of communal lands is generating, and with the utmost intention of preventing any potential eruption of violence in the LGA, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North, Hon Innocent Esewezie in the company of the Ibusa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chidi Obioji, took a tour of the land under dispute in Ibusa Delta State today Saturday.

Hon. Esewezie described the fight over land as sad while noting that it has become necessary to end further lawlessness in land issues in the local government. He posited that everyone posing as revenue agents must come to the Council for proper identification and regularisation, this is to help the police and other enforcement agencies differentiate between criminals and law abiding citizens.

"Those agents working for the Council as regards development levies, we are giving them one week to come and regularise their documents. Anybody that is seen in the bush without a proper identification from the local government, that person is on his own and should be arrested", the Chairman declared.

SP Obioji welcomed the idea of the Chairman. He said the identification of this agents will help them do their jobs more effectively. The police chief further noted that the area under dispute has already been condoned off with a strict warning to trespassers to keep off until the issue is effectively resolve by the government.

In the same vein, the President of Ibusa Youths Council (IYC), Comr. Ifeanyi Asiodu, suggested that all land developers must report at the LGA council before commencing work, as this would aide in noting and resolving any dispute before it blows out of proportion.

In a related development, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA noted with dismay the recklessness in which people block government roads without providing convenient alternative routes or proper approval from the appropriate authorities. He used the medium to call on Ndi-Oshimili North to stop all blocking of roads in the LGA as any road blocked without the proper authorization may attract prosecution.

As a follow up, there will be a meeting of all land developers with the leadership of the Council on Monday the 9th of May 2022 as deliberation has become expedient in order to be on the same page.
