💔 TRUE STORY: How a Family’s Kindness Led to Their Tràgic End 💔
(As told by VDM – summarized for everyone to learn from)
This is not just another story — it’s a pàinful real-life tragedy that teaches us about trust, betrayal, and the danger of misplaced kindness.
Justus was a bright young graduate of Imo State University (Class of 2022). His sister, Thecla, was a hardworking businesswoman who sold phones and accessories. Their mother was a nurse who owned a small clinic, and the family lived humbly in Ajegunle, Lagos.
After Thecla’s business grew, she moved the family to Sangotedo on the Island for a better life. Everything was going well until kindness opened the door to tragedy.
Justus had an old friend named Ediri, who was struggling badly. Out of compassion, he begged his sister to allow Ediri to stay with them and help in her shop. Thecla initially refused, but after much pleading — even from their father — she agreed.
Soon after, Justus got a job with International Breweries in Ogun State and moved out. Before leaving, he promised to help Ediri find work too. A few months later, he got him an interview and even gave him his house key to stay while waiting.
That was the beginning of everything that went wrong.
After the interview, Ediri told Justus he had to rush back to Lagos to tell Thecla the good news. Weeks later, Thecla went missing. Calls were unanswered. Her fiancé didn’t know where she was.
When Justus began asking questions, stories from Ediri didn’t add up. Neighbours said they’d seen Thecla days after Ediri claimed she travelled — and that she’d once complained about missing money from her shop.
The police got involved, and slowly, the heartbreàking truth began to unfold.
Ediri had betràyed the family that lifted him up. What he did to Thecla and how he tried to cover it up is something too pàinful to describe. Their mother, unable to bear the shóck, pàssed away shortly after hearing the truth. Their eldest sister, who had been bàttling illness, also didn’t survive the pàin.
Three lives lóst — all connected to one act of kindness.
As of now, the suspect has been in custody, and a court hearing is set for November 12. The family is f!ghting to make sure justice is served.
💔 Lesson: Be kind, but be wise. Not everyone you help wishes you well.
Pray for discernment before opening your door or your heart to anyone — even those you once called “family.”
