His lips curved into a smile then he began to laugh.

Oh no!

Has he lost it?

God, please let it not be it.

He promised to help me and now he got mad just by hearing of the disappearance of our dear ones. How will I handle my mad fiance and a psychopath Lando? And how will I rescue my people when I don't even know my way around this city?

Oh, Lord! How many tribulations shall I face?

I looked up to the heavens before walking to Dave.

"Are you out of your mind for real? That's why you're laughing right? I heard that's how madness begins but before you start taking your things off, I need to take you back inside so that your parents will lock you…"

"What are you saying Leo? I am not mad." He laughed.

"That's what all mad people say. They claim not to be mad but they are. I'm so sorry. I didn't know this is going to affect you this way." I cried. I can't believe Dave has suddenly gone mad.

"I'm not mad Leo. Now stop crying."

"No, you are! You laughed. Who laughs in a crisis like this? Only mad people."

"No. People laugh when they're fiancee is being funny."

"You see. We just lost our dear ones and you're saying I am being funny? This can only happen when someone is mad."

"Stop saying that I've gone crazy Leona! I'm absolutely fine. Okay, I won't laugh again." He shouted.

"If you are not mad then why were you laughing? What was funny?"

" You. What do you want me to do if not stare at my emotional fiancee cry over nothing? I'm sorry but it was nice seeing you act like this when your brother and the rest are busily snoring in bed now."

"W..what are you saying?" I stammered.

"Cheer up Leo, I was only joking and I'm not mad."

"What? How can you joke about something like this?"

"I'm sorry, now let's go."

"I won't go anywhere until I hear from Raymond."

"Okay fine." He gave me his phone and I quickly dialed Raymond's number.

I eyed Dave dangerously when he didn't pick after the second ring.

"Try again." His voice was low.

I did and Raymond picked with his usual sleepy voice.

"Why are you calling me now Dave? Is something wrong? Is Leonard okay?" He asked and I sighed.

"I wanted to check if you are alright Ray."

"Leo it's you. I'm sorry we have to go. I have somewhere to go tomorrow that's why."

"It's okay. Is Leonard with you?"

"Yes. Fast asleep. I'm happy for you Leo. Congratulations."

"Thanks, Ray. I will be home soon."

"Okay." He hangs up.

I gave the phone back to Dave and tucked my
hair behind my ear. It fell on my face while I was tugging at it.

"Are you okay now?"

"Yes but that was not funny. Please don't do that again."

"I know." He pulled me into his arms. "I wanted to comfort you just like this."

"I got scared, Dave. I almost lost my breath." I buried my face into his chest.

"Yeah am sorry." He rubbed circles at my back.

"Can we go now?" I asked and he nodded.

We walked to his car and he opened the door for me then round it and sat beside me.

"You are crazy Dave." I shake my head and smiled. I can't stop thinking about the stunt he pulled. Who does that?

He chuckled and drove out of the driveway and sped into the road.

"How can you think of the worst so quickly? Don't you believe whatever I say? I couldn't have let that happen."

"Yes. I panicked. You know it's not healthy so you shouldn't do that again. I reacted just the way you wanted and you laughed at my expense. You always laugh."

"It was hilarious, don't blame me."

"You won't do that again right?" I asked and glanced at him.

"I won't. I was just testing how much faith you had in me. I realized I still have to do my homework." He focused on the road as he sp*eds past cars.

"I have faith in you, Dave. I just reacted to what you said. I couldn't help it."

"Alright. Let's talk about something else."

"Something like what?"

He moved a hand from the wheel and took my hand.

"I still have a problem." He directs my hand to his bulge again and I gasped.

I thought it will go after what happened. "What are you?"

"I don't know. I don't know what you've turned me into Leo." He mumbled and left my hand there.

Next, his hand moved the slit on my thigh then he squeezed it.

"You're driving Dave. Don't get us killed."

"We won't. I know how to." His hand moved in between my thigh.

"Shift closer." He whispered and focused his dark gaze on me.

"I said come closer." He groaned when I didn't act on his word.

With my hand still on his ever-growing bulge, I shifted then his hand moved deeper into my thigh then brushed against my soaking pants.

"S**t." He moaned and rubbed his finger at my entrance. I part my thighs for him then he moved my pant to one side as his hands played at my entrance.

I undid his zipper and slipped my hand into his dress pant. Dave was so hard and big. I stroke him gently and watch as he shut his eyes then his head falls back.

I moved my eyes from him to the road then I yelled when I saw a truck sp*eding towards our car.

"DAVE!" I called and removed my hand from his pants.

His hand slipped from my pant too then he began to control the car. He quickly switched Lane and made way for the truck.

"Geez. Did you forget yourself." I placed my hand to my chest as I tried to calm myself.

"Resume what you were doing." He commanded.

"I won't. I just saw death flash before me. This can wait."

"We're even home already." He moved from the road and turned to his street.

Within some minutes we were in front of his huge gate. It slides open automatically and he got in.

The moment the car stopped I jumped from it and took my heels off.

"Wait for me, Leo."

I ignored him and quickened my steps. I know what he'd do if we walk together and I don't want any audience while I am on it with him. He doesn't seem to care but I do.

I entered Raymond's room instead of ours and saw him sleeping with Leonard on his chest.

I see. So he's the one who got Leonard addicted to that kind of sleeping style and got me to suffer for it. Even Raymond is not innocent in what happened to me the last time

I stepped Into the room fully and kissed them on the cheeks. They mean so much to me. I can't imagine my life without them.

I got out and began to take the stairs back to Mary's room. I should've checked her room first before taking the stairs all back.

"And now where are you going?" I met Dave on the way.

"To check on Mary."

"Tch. You worry too much. Look down there."

I obeyed and saw Mary walking out of the kitchen with a bottle of water.

"Have you seen her?"

"Yes." The moment it left my mouth, he carried me on his shoulder and jogged all the way to our room and shut the door behind us.

He put me back on my feet then holding my face in his hands, he lowered his lips on mine and he worked his hands to my back and groped me. I moaned into his mouth and loosed his tie. His hand left my ass and moved under my dress and into my thin pant.

I got his tuxedo off and unbuttoned his shirt. He pulled me closer to him and our chest flashed. He moved his hands from under my dress and it began to roam all over me.

Without warning, he ripped the dress off me and unclasped my bra. My hands worked on his dress pants then I got down on my knees. I tugged at his dress pant along with his boxers and slipped it off his feet. I stared at him hungrily and grabbed his length. I ran my tongue on his length then adored him with wet flattery kisses. He moaned and pressed my face to his front. I rolled my tongue on his tip then swirled it and sucked him hard.

He grabbed my hair and pulled me to my feet.

"I want to fill you up. I can't wait anymore." He breathed and got my pant off. I clumsily stepped out of them because my legs were weak. He chuckled then connect his lips to mine and gave my hips a squeeze before hoisting me up so I can wrap my legs around him. I gladly put my hands around his neck then rake my hand through his hair. He lifted me further then slowly lowers me onto him.

I felt my back against the smooth door as he guides me up and down. My hands tightened on his neck as he began to thrust deeply into me. His hips move against me faster that I can hardly keep up. Neither can I stop the moan. Remembering that Raymond was sleeping next to two doors, I bit my lips to control my moans.

"Are... you... okay this way?" He stuttered.

I returned to kissing him and our kiss was slow yet passionate and intimate while his thrust became more frantic.

My head falls on to his chest with my eyes shut. He began to move then all of a sudden, I felt cold water hit my skin. I was spent but each drop of the water on my skin was like an energy dose.

He put me down then began to clean me. We stayed in silence and let our bodies do the talking until he was done bathing me. I regained my strength back but I still leaned on him. He grabbed the towel and dried me.

"And the night is still young."

I looked up at him and blinked when the water from his hair dropped on my face.

" The problem is still not solved. Take a look."

I looked down at him and instantly the fire burning out in me revived at the sight of the thickness between his legs.

"You're the cause. I can't get enough of you." He licked my neck and picked me up again. I giggled as he walked out and dropped me on the bed.

My inexplicable happiness rolled on as Kimberly introduced me to her friends and relatives. My mind was still reeling in my engagement to Dave that I paid less attention to the introduction Kimberly was doing. My thumb kept rolling on the shimmering object on my middle finger. I haven't taken a proper look at it yet.

I didn't expect Dave to do something like that and if it were to be a week back, I would've said no to him point-blank. Well, I could've still done it because marriage and settling are the least things in my mind now. I mean how can one think of marriage when there is death probably lurking somewhere in a corner?.

All the same, I know all my fears will happen some way or the other so why not give him some Joy when things seem like they're calm now? Until whatever that will come comes, I will continue to do whatever will make him happy. I will live in the moment and make the best out of it.

Katherine complained of a headache when she was stopped from leaving by Kim. Kim didn't have any choice than to let her go. I didn't understand why she stopped her though.

"Okay." Dave strolled to where we stood. "That is enough now mum. We want to go home."

Thank God he came. I'm bored and tired of all these introductions. They keep asking questions about things I don't wish to talk about.

"You wait for a little Dave. When you go now I don't know when you'd allow her to come. Please, son."

"Yes, Dave. Please allow us to acquaint with your wife to be. She's so lovely." Dave's Aunt, Ariel said.

"Okay. Ten minutes."

My eyes followed him as he walked away. He must've felt my eyes on him so he turned.

He pointed to me then to my mum then raised his pinky.

I didn't get what he meant so I shook my head and he did it again. I smiled when I got what he was trying to tell me. He's really determined to take me from here.

"Sorry to interrupt but I need to visit the restroom," I whispered into his mother's ears.

She nodded and excused us from the group of ladies gathered around us.

"I'd show you." She said and took the lead. Dave turned around and began to talk to his father pretentiously.

"You can just give me the direction Kim. You don't want to leave your friends all alone."

"Don't worry dear. You might get lost if I don't take you there myself." She said and we began to take the stairs.

I didn't try to keep her back anymore as we took all the zigzag stairs then she stopped before a door.

"You can use this room. I'd be waiting for you here."

"Okay." I turned the k**b and entered. The room was so big and in the middle was a gigantic king-size bed. It was so spacious and beautifully decorated. The closet was carved into the wall and it was impossible to see something lying carelessly on the floor. Whoever this room is for must be very neat and organized.

I went to the washroom and it was as big as the room I shared when I was with Raymond. Everything was sparkling clean.

I turned around to leave since I didn't come to use the bathroom.

My eyes hit the wall above the wall close to the bed which had so many photos on it.

Among all of them, my eyes caught a photo of a boy about eight-year-old ing brightly to the camera. I raised my hand and touched it. I laughed when I recognized the boy as Dave. He hasn't changed that much except that he matured. He still has that boyish resemblance in him.

I decided to take it off and tease him with it later. After taking it off, I saw another picture which was beneath it. It was also a boy but he was young. If I could guess properly then he'd be between four and three years. Unlike Dave who was smiling, this particular boy had a slight frown on his face. He looked angry and when I looked deeply into his eyes, I thought I saw someone familiar.

Who's this boy? Is Dave having a brother? He has Kim's Forest green eyes but his was brighter and seemed to be blazing. A stare from this eye can make you p*e in the pants. I continued to stare intently then the face of the boy formed to Lando. I gaped and blinked multiple times then it formed back to the little boy. What is wrong with me? Am I hallucinating?

The door creaked open and the picture fell from my hand as my heart pound. I looked up and relief washed over me when I saw Dave but not his mum.

"What are you doing over there," He said and took long strides towards me.

"Look what I found ." I showed him the photo and he took it.

"Who's that?"

"Don't you know him? I got the photo from here."

"I don't know him. Where did you get it from?"

" On this wall." I pointed to the exact place I took it from.

"Okay, let's put it back. I'm in no mood to start racking my brain over some ancestor." He chuckled and pinned the photo back.

"But this is not an ancestor." I waved his childhood photo before him.

"What? Give me that Leo."

"No. I'm taking it home with me." I put the picture behind me.

"No, you won't do that." He stepped in front of me and tried to take it.

I shake my head and stepped back.

"Give it!" He ordered but I just pulled my tongue out at him.

He stood directly in front of me and in my attempt to take another step, my leg hit the bed then they gave way. I land on the bed and Dave came on top of me.

"Now will you give it to me or I crush you with my weight?" He put his hands under his chin and stared down at me.

"Is your arm not paining anymore?" I asked.

"Not really. You care about my arm and not your body that I am about to crash?"

I shook my head then immediately, he relaxed on me. I could hardly breathe afterward.

"Dave."

"Mmmm"

"Get your body off me Now!" I spurt through gasps.

"Hand me the picture first."

"Okay." My hands were still beneath me so I let go of the picture and brought my two hands out.

"Abracadabra." I laughed showing my two empty hands.

"Where is it?" He lifted his weight off a little and put his hand under me.

"What are you doing Dave?"

We heard Kim's voice and I pushed him off.

"You can't do this in our room, Dave. At least not here." Kim scolded and I got up embarrassingly.

"We weren't doing anything but I'm certain that after seeing this you'd allow us to go." He smirked and took my hand.

"Leo hasn't met everyone yet."

"If it's so necessary for her to meet all of them. If it is, then book an appointment for those left the same day then Leona and I will decide when to see them. For now, I am taking her home."

"Okay. If you insist." Kim sighed.

"Yeah. Bye, mum."

"Bye Kim." I hugged her. "I'm sorry," I whispered.

"It's okay but I knew what you and Dave did. You tricked me, didn't you? And Dave also got me to leave the door."

I laughed and pulled away. "That's why I said that I was sorry."

"Yes, can't wait to see you again."

"Me too."

Dave who was waiting impatiently grabbed my wrist and began to walk me from her mum.

After getting down on the first stairs on our way down, Dave turned in the opposite direction.

"That's not the route to home Dave!" Kim hollered after us.

"Where are you taking me to?"

"My room."

"For what? Thought you said you want us to go home?" I stopped.

"I have a problem." He looked down at himself.

My eyes traveled with his gaze to his dress pant. His front was tightening.

"Only you can solve it." He brought my hand to his bulging front and I looked around with my heart beating loudly as heat rushed through me.

"Yes but not here. Let's go home."

He didn't say another word and we turned around.

When we got down the whole area was cleared and it was only Dave's parents in the hall.

"You're leaving?" Charles asked.

"As you can see," Dave replied.

"Thanks for coming Leona." I moved my hand from Dave's and hugged him.

"Thanks for having me."

"You're welcome. Do come here anytime you wish. This is your home too. And don't forget to bring my grandson along."

"I will." I smiled broadly.

"And congratulations to you. I can't believe my second grandchild is on the way." Charles beamed.

"Yes me too. Dave, please let her come here often. I want to make sure she's alright during this time."

"I will. Now, will you allow us to go?" Dave asked harshly.

His Dad chuckled. "You may."

I waved them and we got out.

All the cars that filled the area are gone except for the one we brought.

"Where are the rest, Dave? I mean my brother, Leonard, and Mary."

His eyes widened. "What? I don't know. Didn't you see them leave? He was with me before I came up to look for you."

I panicked.

"Oh my God! What the heck are you talking about Dave? If I was up then how on Earth am I supposed to see them leaving?!"

"But.. but they were in the hall before..yes..they were. Oh no! What now?." He ran his hand in his hair nervously.

He wasn't making any sense.

"How did you not know they're whereabouts, Dave? How did you not know?" Tears sting my eyes and my throats tightened as I thought of them in Yolando's custody.

My poor son.

My dear brother

And innocent Mary.

"How can you be this careless Dave! How could you?!" I yelled and pulled at my hair in agony.

I looked at him and he was staring at me. "Why are you just staring? Do something Dave! Don't just stand there!"

"Can we go have dinner now? I'm starving." Katherine smiled but it didn't reach her eyes.

Her cat eyes settled on me for the first time and she smirked. I did the silliest thing and smirked back.

When we were walking to the large elongated table, I stepped beside her.

"Who really do you want to expose Kathy?" I whispered.

She scowled at me but didn't say anything. Why's she not retaliating?

"Answer me, Kathy. You threw that challenge."

"You heard me, Leona Grande. Stop taunting me unnecessarily." She seethed and stopped walking.

"Carry on Kim." She said to Dave's mom and she left.

"Now this is the Kathy I know." I tapped on my purse and pouted my lips.

"What do you want?"

"I just want to know who you'd like to expose. You and I know that your daughter is a fu***ng bastard so what exactly do you want to do?"

"So he told you." She nodded quietly.

"Why wouldn't he? The dude loves me and I won't hesitate to tell Mrs. Anosova if you try to prove my son illegitimate."

"Dave will hate you for that and in the end, he'd ditch you and I would go crawling back into his arms. Who lost? You." She pointed her freshly manicured finger to me with a smirk. Her eyes remained locked on my neck when she dropped her hand and I wonder why.

Dave said it's an ordinary necklace so why will she look at it with so much envy in her eyes?

I know Dave will never leave me for her but the thought makes me nauseous.

"Why would he accept you when I am here?" I didn't wait for her answer before walking away.

Everyone was moving to the three large rectangular tables. It was so long and if measured, I could say it's 60 meters. The guest was also about 200 and I wonder if it's just family and friends.

I looked around and when I didn't see Dave or Raymond near, I decided to pull a seat. I'm so hungry.

Before I could do that, someone held my hand. I looked up and saw Raymond. I smiled.

He tugged me along with him and we took a seat at the front where his family was seated.

He sat beside me while Mary sat opposite us. Kathy came and pulled a seat beside Raymond. So now, Raymond was between Kathy and I. On my side was someone I do not know. I looked for Dave but didn't see him.

When I looked at the front, I got relieved when I saw Kim holding Leonard on her lap but I didn't see Emerald. There was an empty seat beside Dave's mum after almost all the guests had sat.

"Hi." I heard Kathy whisper to my brother.

"Hey." Raymond smiled politely.

I looked away when her eyes met mine. My eyes dropped to the empty plate before me and I am tempted to take the cutleries and use it on the plates so that the people in charge of the food will be quick.

I decided to keep myself busy with admiring the decorations in the room and on the table so I don't start hitting my spoon on the plate.

Finally, the appetizers arrived, and trust me, I tasted all of them. Deviled Eggs With Country Ham was my favorite.

"Take it, easy sis, we still have a four-course meal ahead," Raymond whispered while I was stuffing lobsters in my mouth.

I looked around and my eyes met Kim's. She looked down on her plate and I felt guilty. How's it possible that I am being so greedy with this food. But I'm starving so much. I couldn't help it.

However, I could still feel someone's eyes on me.

★★DAVE★★

I excused myself and left the house once Leona was taken away by mum. It's been a while since I've been to the office and I have a lot to do. Not only that, but I'm also trying my best to discover the new place Lando is keeping her family.

When I came back, everyone was seated and appetizers were being served.

My eyes roamed and settled on my heartthrob. The way she was abusing the appetizers could tell that she had been starving and plathe, it was funny, it was cute as well.

I perched where I could watch her eat the entire time until dinner was over. She began to move her eyes and I realized she felt my eyes on her. That's it, she's so responsive in everything.

Her lips pout each time she put food in her mouth and God, does it look sexy. Everything on her is a great turn on for me and I can't help it.

After waiting for an hour, the meal was over and they served desserts. She picked a citronfromage which I am not surprised about but worried that she must be feeling nauseous again.

This morning she took a lemonade and what she's holding also contains a lemon despite the cream inside.

I walked across the large Hall and stood behind her.

Everyone's eye was on me except hers. My foodie girlfriend still had her glass of citronfromage she was greedily obsessing over in her hands.

I knew from the beginning that she eats quite an amount of food the first time I took her out for lunch. But it doesn't affect her stature. She still has that model-like body all ladies have been working out for.

I cleared my throat behind her and seemed to have startled her, so her glass dropped. Great. Now everyone's single eye was on us.

I called one of the ladies dressed in black and white with a tray and picked another glass for her.

The maid came and cleaned the place up.

When the place was cleaned, I cleared my throat again and I got everyone's attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, I would like to thank you all for making a point to come here. On behalf of my parents, I welcomed you all once again. And mum, thank you so much for making the arrangements. This dinner wouldn't have been possible without your help." I smiled at everyone and ignored how Leona was gaping at me.

Of course, I planned this. The call I had with mum was all an act. But my mum really wanted to patch things with her.

"Most of you here are my workers and though this function is not about work, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and diligence. And also to my friends and family, I would like to thank you all for your utmost support. Now, this sp*ech won't be complete if she's not mentioned." I spun Leona's chair around and made her face me.

I stared blankly at Dave, wondering what he was saying and what he was about to do when he turned Leona's chair to face him.

He took the glass she was holding and dropped it on the table. "Mum won't hesitate to bill us if this glass falls as well."

I scoffed at his lame attempt to make a joke. At this point, I can tell what the dick was about to do. I can't believe Kimberly invited me to witness this. That woman is so gonna pay.

"After my very first attempt to be in a relationship, I had high hopes but alas things didn't go well like assumed. Several weeks went by and I never thought I could be happy again. I never thought I'd be capable of loving anyone again and I was really okay with it. Then one day, this beautiful intelligent strawberry platinum-haired woman barged into my office for an interview in her hideous long skirt and smart mouth. Prior to that, we've met on some occasions which I don't wish to disclose now. But that moment at the office, I got captivated by everything about her. Including her energy and zeal towards work and that was it for me. I knew right from that moment that this woman is who my heart has been waiting for. She was that light that brightened up my world and gave me a reason to live. I only wish I met her earlier so I shouldn't have suffered for years. I am not a full believer but I know somehow we were made to be, a match made from heaven just for me, and perhaps that's why she carried my baby without knowing, and now I am a proud father of a cute boy. Still counting. What more could I ask for except that you accept to marry me so we can welcome our baby into this world together? I love you so much Leona Grande, and I would like to spend the rest of my life with you." He bends on one knee in front of her and fetched something from his pocket.

Everyone was upstanding and clapping madly. I got up as well because I don't want anybody to think that I'm not happy for them. But the truth is, I am not happy. I should be the one Dave should be proposing to not her.

"This was in fact not a dinner party per se but an engagement party." He beamed and she got up, faking some tears.

"Please say yes. I know there's a lot going on in our lives now…"

The bitch covered his mouth and pulled him unto his feet in tears. Did I hear him say they're expecting?

I craned my neck to look at the ring and gasped.

What the f**k!

It's a goddamned diamond, worth like 20 carats. And what? It's the latest design from MD jewelry for VIPs.

What the f**k! On her neck is also another set of diamonds and I haven't recovered from it and now this?

I watched in awe as he put billions of dollars on her filthy finger after she screamed her acceptance. I looked around and everybody seemed to be lost in the new craze that was going on with dreamy faces.

I huffed and stomped my foot on the floor angrily. I felt like shattering every piece of plates on the tables as I fumed.

They should enjoy this moment while it lasts. While they enjoy, I will also busy myself with my plans. Dave won't know what hit him after I am done. He seems so concerned about this Leona girl and he's trying to save her from Lando but who's going to save him from me and Lando? Who's protecting him? No one. He's helpless more than the word helpless itself.

I better get out of here to save myself from this useless and meaningless engagement party. I've watched enough of this nonsense. Not anymore.

"Sweet Jesus!" I exclaimed.

My eyes got glued to the doorpost,
on the man who has taken my breath away without even trying and didn't pay much heed to the effect, his eyes were inflicting on my body. It seems we both are enthralled and captured by the other.

I like the way his eyes widened the second they set on me and how he was staring with so much need in his blue orbs which have gone dark. My palms wet as he took calculated steps to me, his eyes never leaving mine.

"Goodness." He gasped and pulled me to him by the waist.

"How do you do it, Leo?" His breath fanned my neck causing goosebumps to form on my skin.

My arms came around his neck and stepped more close to him. His sweet scent hit my nose, intoxicating my senses. The stubbles were no longer on his face, adding more credit.

His hands went behind me and groped me. An involuntary moan escaped my lips and I swallowed greedily.

"You are...looking incredibly sexy in this dress Leo. I feel like ripping it off of you. I'm starving Leo, you know it. I can't take it any longer. Can we.?" He breathed hoarsely into my ears and I feel my core clench tight. The intensity in his eyes caused my knees to buckle. I will be on the floor if he let go of me.

His lips came down on mine and I quickly kissed him back with so much fury. My hands were hesitant to roam on him since I didn't want to wrinkle the suit.

"Mama." Leonard tugged on my dress pulling us apart and reminding me that we have somewhere to be.

"Can we continue this later? Please." He let out against my lips and I nod. I wiped my lipstick stain from his lips with my thumbs before reapplying another.

I looked down at my son and back to his father. A smile graced my face. They were in an identical expensive tuxedo and even had a similar hairstyle. Their appearance mirrored the other and my son looked exactly like Dave.

"Leonard, tell your mum to stop ogling at us," Dave said and licked his lips.

I didn't argue because I was really ogling so obstructively but can you blame me? Dave is hot and my son is cute.

"When did you come for the outfits? I was here but didn't see you."

"You were putting your dress on then and I tiptoed so you couldn't have heard." He grinned.

I actually expected to see them still in a towel and wet hair. I didn't imagine that they'll come out of that bathroom all dressed up.

"Did I surprise you?"

"You did. I was preparing to scold you for taking too long to come out." I confessed.

"My bad. Tch. Sorry." He made a sad mockery face and I nudged him playfully.

"Do you think what I am wearing is okay? Is it appropriate." I looked down at my garment. I'm going to his house for the first time and I don't want to look shabby or sloppy. I need to create a good impression.

"You are the envy of all women Leo. You just can't help rocking in whatever you wear. You really shouldn't worry." He assured me and came behind me.

The next minute I felt something cold on my neck.

"What's that?" I touched it.

"Just a necklace that's all."

I walked to the mirror to take a look but he pulled me back.

"Let's go. We've wasted enough time."

"But..?"

"No Leo." He picked Leonard up and I walked ahead of them.

After taking the last stairs, I saw Mary looking beautiful and young in her black evening floral dress with a pair of stiletto heels. Her blonde hair straightened so that it fell on her shoulders.

"You look stunning Mary." I kissed her cheek.

"Thanks, sweetheart. You don't look bad yourself." She smiled, revealing her lovely dentition.

I moved my eyes and it landed on a tall man who is a suit and almost having the same height as Raymond.

"Who's he?" I whispered to Dave who barely stepped beside me.

"Who?" Dave asked, glancing passed the man.

"The tall handsome man standing over there." I pointed to the person.

"You don't know him?" Amusement was clear in his voice and face.

"I'm I supposed to?"

He threw his head back and laughed loudly startling everyone including the man and he turned.

Oh, it was none other than my own brother, Raymond.

Wow! He's got a new hair cut and has trimmed part of the hair at the back of his head. The suit he wore fitted him perfectly.

"What?" His handsome face was distorted into confusion as he stared from laughing Dave to dazed Leona.

"Oh my God Raymond! Could you believe I couldn't recognize you? I mean this is the first time ever seeing you dressed this way and you look…"

"I know, I look like a clown." He began to lose his tie. He misunderstood.

"You don't look like a clown Raymond. You look great believe me." I rushed to him.

"I don't believe you. Mary, tell me how I actually look." He walked to Mary.

"Did you not see how hopelessly I was drooling and wishing that I was twenty? I bet if there will be a young lady there then you won't come home without a date."

"Really Mary?" Raymond laughed.

"Yeah and if you don't get a date then I am here. I'm suddenly a fan." She winked and we laughed.

"Seriously, I better not believe any of you. Mary just likened me to a Disney prince but I will rather be with her than the people she's busy talking about." He took her hand.

"Shall we go now?" Dave took my hand and I nod.

After half an hour, the car pulled over in front of a mansion whose parking lot was filled with different types of expensive cars.

My side of the car was opened by a guard and I stepped down. Dave came out and hooked my arm with his.

Mary was also out with Raymond and Leonard.

"Your family house is so big." I looked around for any journalist or paparazzi. I heaved a sigh when I didn't spot any.

"Wait till you get inside."

When we reached the foyer, the man whom I've identified from Dave's party as his dad came to meet us with a wide smile.

"You finally came." He said and hugged Dave.

"Yeah, I have to."

"You are Leona right?" He smiled at me and hugged me.

"Now I can see why my son won't stop talking about you to me. He has gone mad, literally. He added and I p*ek at Dave.

What could he possibly be talking to his father about me?

" Hi, Mary." He kissed her hand and I spot the elderly woman blushing.

"And you must be the gorgeous lady's brother right?" He asked Raymond.

"Yes sir."

"It was easy. Beauty runs in the blood." He added and Raymond looked down at his dress shoes, a bit uncomfortable.

The look on his face when he saw Leonard was hilarious. " Oh my God! Dave has incarnated and he's not even gone.."

"I told you, Charles. He's a perfect mirror image of Dave's childhood." Dave's mum appeared dressed glamorously in an open back red designer dress. I felt uneasy and looked around everywhere except for her direction. Dave must have noticed so he squeezed my hand.

"You didn't give a detailed description" Mr. Anosova turned to his wife.

"What description could be better than the one I gave?"

"Maybe you should listen to my description then you can learn one or two things from it," he said.

" let it out."

"Okay. Enough you two. We are starving and you're busy bickering." Dave whined.

"Hi Leona "

I looked up to see Dave's mum smiling at me.

I smiled back, "Hello Mrs. Anosova"

"Kimberly. That's my name and you can call me that but I prefer Kim. There's really no need to be formal."

"Okay, Kim." I smiled and a part of my uneasiness washed away.

"Is this your brother Leona?" Kim asked.

"Yes. He is."

"Welcome.?."

"Raymond."

"Welcome, Raymond. Please can I have my grandson?"

"Sure."

Leonard opened his arms and he was taken.

"I'd like to introduce Leona to a few of my friends so you can all get in," Kim said and gestured for me to follow her after giving Leonard to his grandfather while I followed her awkwardly.

Dave was right when he said his mum is not at organizing small events.

The huge crowd inside the large decorated hall was not something I expected.

Ladies and gentlemen were dressed elegantly as they chatter among themselves in groups.

Kim walked me past the guest to the quietest part of the hall then stopped. The awkwardness increased when silence settled between us.

"I actually wanted us to talk before I start to introduce you to everyone." She said and I nod with a forced smile.

"For all that I said to you the last time, I just wanted to say I am sorry. I said them because that was what I assumed about you but now I know who you really are and is nothing like I speculated. Please would you forgive me and let's move on?"

"You really don't have to apologize Kim. I should be the one apologizing because I was the one in the wrong. I shouldn't have stayed with Dave knowing he had a fiancee. I'm sorry."

"That's over now and I have realized how much my son loves you. He hasn't been happy in such a long time until you came and that alone is enough for me. I was stupid trying to force Katherine on him knowing that he doesn't love her and I regret it. He really loves you, Leo. I hope you know that?"

Do I know that Dave loves me?

Of course, I know.

But I don't know why. I don't know why he loves me so much but I am happy he does love me. I'm just sad that I can't return his feelings the way that I should.

"Yeah, I know," I answered and met her eyes. Those eyes.

"I'm glad you know so please never leave him. I've watched him suffer a terrible heartbreak before and I can't witness another. Please would you promise me?"

Staying with Dave forever is something I am not sure of but I can't hope…

"So it has gotten to this." I looked up and saw Kathy standing a few feet from us. Since when has she been there?

She strolled leisurely towards us and looking as beautiful as ever in a tight black dress and heels high as Everest.

"What is going on here?" She glanced at me then back to Dave's mum.

"We were talking."

"What could be so substantial that you'd have to talk to her? You never liked her.."

"That was in the past. I think we need to talk but not here."

"What else do I have to hear? I heard everything you told her and I can't believe it. How could you? Why are you suddenly backtracking? Have you forgotten that Dave and I have a child?"

"She is also the mother of Dave's son Katherine." Kimberly let out and silence dwelled among us. Katherine stared at her then at me as if we've both grown invisible horns.

"That's'the only common thing between you and Leona, Katherine..."

"Don't compare us, Kimberly, just because of some false story she fed you with." Kathy cut her off sternly.

"Alright but I know for a fact you don't love him and he doesn't love you so what's the point? Over the years, I tried my possible best to bring you and Dave together but it has never worked. Not even after you birthed Emerald. I can't keep on trying to bring both of you together so I made a decision.."

"So you're convincing this bitch to become his concubine?"

"Not another bad word Katherine!."

"And what will you do? I think you're out of your mind else you won't be uttering this nonsense. And don't tell me it was the reason why you organized the dinner."

"It is," Kim answers calmly.

"I can't believe this! What is wrong with you? You were on my side."

"I haven't left your side, Katherine. I'm just putting my son first. I'm sorry but we can't keep fighting an already lost battle. Leona is who my son wants so let it be."

"This isn't fair Kim. I'm highly disappointed in you for what you've done and now neither you will be spared. "

"What did you say, Katherine?" Kim asked and turned to her. I'm also curious to know what she meant by that.

"Nothing Katherine. I don't know why you haven't seen how much I love your son. I love him Kim and you telling me to stay away from him is heartbreaking." Her voice cracked.

She's such a drama queen.

"I'm sorry Kathie."

"I know you are but please give me a chance to prove to you that the son she's claiming to have for Dave is illegitimate. It's all her plan to trap you and she won't even spare you if her goal is achieved. Permit me to reveal who this woman really is before you make any mistakes Kim."

What the hell?

What is she trying to prove here? She was just threatening the woman and now she's acting as if she cared.

"What are you saying, Kathy? No one will tell you that Leonard is Dave's son by just taking a glimpse of him whereas people won't know Emerald is Dave's daughter if the person is not told. So who among you should be questioned? No offense, I'm just saying the truth and that doesn't mean I doubt you."

"It's okay. I'm sorry for blowing up but we have to talk about this again Kim."

"Definitely."

"Can we go have dinner now? I'm starving." Katherine smiled but it doesn't reach her eyes.
