“A SAFER AND CLEANER ASABA IS ALL I STRIVE FOR” – HRM ASAGBA AZINGE!

Asaba – His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS, FICMC, LLD(HC), KSJI, KSG, reaffirmed his commitment to a cleaner and safer Asaba Kingdom as he led a sanitation exercise across the urban villages of Asaba.
“A safer and cleaner Asaba is all I strive for,”Asagba Azinge declared. Cleanliness is not just about beauty, it is about protecting lives, preventing disease, and showing the world the pride we take in our community.
Nna Agu led the exercise alongside Obi Lt. Chukwuemeka Ajufoh, Chairman of the Asaba Community Sanitation Taskforce, and members of the Palace Chiefs. The team moved round the urban villages to sensitize residents and join in clearing refuse and drainage channels.
Speaking during the exercise, the revered Monarch emphasized that environmental cleanliness is critical to the health, safety, and image of the Kingdom. He expressed dismay over the level of debris blocking drainages in Umudaike and Umuekwo villages, in Ugbomanta and Umuaji quarters respectively.
He directed residents and shop owners to evacuate dirts from those drainages within 24 hours, after which sealed properties will be unsealed.
The Monarch commended Obi Lt. Ajufoh and the Sanitation Taskforce Committee for their dedication, and urged all Asaba sons and daughters, residents and landlords, to take ownership of their surroundings and observe monthly sanitation with seriousness.
His Majesty further charged the Sanitation Taskforce Committee to sustain the tempo and ensure that the campaign reaches every street and household. He noted that a clean Asaba will attract investment, boost tourism, and improve the wellbeing of the people.
Asagba Azinge also urged relevant authorities on sanitation to ensure proper sanitation exercises in the urban villages of the community and to work closely with the Asaba Community Sanitation Taskforce Committee.
The exercise ended with a call for continued partnership between the Palace, community leaders, and government agencies to keep Asaba safe, clean, and habitable.
