She Was In Her Room, and d eath Still Came.
I have been angry.
Not the quiet kind of angry, the kind that sits in your chest and won't let you sleep. The kind that makes you stare at your phone screen and ask God questions you don't have answers to.
A young nursing student💔
Someone's daughter💔
Someone's future💔
She didn't go out that night❌
She didn't go to the club❌
She wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time in the way people love to say when they are looking for something to blame on a woman who is no longer alive to defend herself❌❌
She was in her room sleeping, and evil walked in anyway.
She was beh£aded while she slept😭😭
I want you to sit with that for a moment, because we cannot keep scrolling past these headlines as if they are normal.
They are not normal and we cannot let them become normal.
So let's talk, because there are lessons here that could save a life⬇️⬇️⬇️
📌ONE: Your relationships are a form of Protection
Testimonies say she was a quiet girl. Kept to herself. Didn't cause trouble.
And I am not ( please hear me clearly) I am not saying she did anything wrong. She did not deserve what happened to her. No woman does. Full stop.
But here is the lesson I take from this:
There are people society overlooks, the security man at your gate, the cleaner in your building, the gateman on your street, and many of us walk past them every single day like they are furniture.
Please stop doing that.
You don't have to be their best friend. You don't have to invite them for dinner. But when you pass, greet them. Look them in the eye. Acknowledge their humanity.
Because here is what I know about people: it is very hard to hurt someone you have genuinely connected with. When evil is being planned, it is often the person who says "leave that one, she greets me every morning" that becomes your invisible shield.
A warm greeting costs you nothing.
It could cost you everything not to give it.
