A million Naira is sitting in my wife's bank account. She doesnât have a job. The last time I checked that same account, sometime last year, it had just about 30 thousand in it.
She started working with a lady she called her friend about seven months ago. Itâs not an official job. The friend is a supervisor at a clĂşb, and my wife goes there once in a while to help out. According to her, the lady pays her 40k or 50k Naira.
sometimes. She goes about three times a week, leaves around 8pm and is back by 11pm. Just three hours. Thatâs why I believed the wĂĄge.
I even asked her to stop, but she ins!sted, saying she needed a side hustle. Since we got married in 2021, Iâve been the one taking care of everything. So even though I didnât like the job, I accepted it because her support eĂĄsed some of my prĂŠssure.
Now Iâve checked her account and it has seven figures. Seven figures! Something I havenât seen a quarter of in my whole life. And she was h!ding it from me.
I demanded to know the sĂ´urce, and she told me she was saving from the job. A job that pays 50 thousand naira at most? How do you save over a million in less than seven months from that? It doesnât add up.
When I pressed hĂĄrder, she said she doesnât know how the money got there. I asked her to pr!nt the statement, and most of the money was trĂĄ to trĂĄnsfers from her mĂľbile money wallet plus some heavy in-person depĂłsits. There was even one deposit of 880,000 thousand naira in a s!ngle day.
Now sheâs gone s!lent on the whole thing. She wonât tell me where the money is really from. Instead, she says I can take it all and just leave her alone because she doesnât want to explain.
But I donât want the money. I just want to know the trĂşth. How does someone who doesnât even earn 200,000 thousand naira a month see their account move from 30 thousand naira to over a million in a few months?
Shouldnât the banks even flĂĄg this as sĂťspiciĂ´us or illĂŠgal? Could it be that sheâs chêâting on me with a r!ch men? I keep asking but she gives no answers. First, she said she saved it, then she said she doesnât know how it got that far, even though Iâve seen the depĂ´sits myself.
Now she just wants me to take the money and fórget about everything instèad of telling me the trúth.
