1. JEHOVAH’S NAME AND PURPOSE
“Jehovah” is God’s personal name, used over 7,000 times in the original Hebrew Scriptures. Knowing and using His name builds a personal relationship, not just a formal one. Trust comes from knowing _who_ He is and _what_ He intends — This is summarize as the sanctification of His name and the fulfillment of His purpose for the earth and humanity.
2. LOVE SHOWN THROUGH ACTION, NOT JUST WORDS.
John 3:16 and 1 John 4:8 — Stated that Jehovah’s dominant quality is love. This isn’t abstract. This highlighted how He provided a ransom sacrifice through Jesus Christ to cover human sin, which we see as the ultimate proof of love and a basis for trust in salvation.
3. CONSISTENCY AND TRUTHFULNESS.
Witnesses teach that Jehovah “cannot lie” (Titus 1:2). We believe the Bible is His inspired word and is internally consistent and scientifically/historically reliable. Fulfilled prophecy is a big one for us — for example, prophecies about Babylon’s fall or the coming of the Messiah — as evidence that He keeps His word.
4. GUIDANCE FOR TODAY THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION.
We witnesses believe Jehovah currently guides His people through the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, using the Bible as the guide. Trust in Jehovah therefore extends to trusting the direction we receive through publications, meetings, and conventions, which they view as spiritual food at the proper time.
5. PROTECTION AND SUPPORT IN HARDSHIP.
In our talks and literature, we share accounts of members who felt Jehovah’s help during persecution, illness, or personal trials. This is viewed as the modern evidence of Psalm 55:22 — “throw your burden on Jehovah, and he will sustain you.”
6. THE FUTURE HOPE OF A PARADISE EARTH.
A key emphasis is the promise of a restored earthly paradise with no death, sickness, or injustice, as described in Revelation 21:3-4 and Isaiah 65:21-23. This tangible future hope makes trusting Jehovah now worthwhile, even when life is hard.
