Okpella Agog, As Kingmakers Selected ENGR MICHAEL SADO As Okuokpellagbe of Okpella

It is longer news that Engr. Michael Sado emerged as the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella on 10th May, 2025.

The election which took place at Imiokewa Townhall as directed by the chairman of Etsako East LGA was observed by the Local Government Chairman, the secretary and other prominent state officials.

Immediately after he was declared, the kingmakers and other chiefs with multitude of Okpellas, accompanied him to Ukhomunyio Community where he was traditionally coronated by the two eldest men and women of his community inline with the extant law and custom.

This was followed by a lot of traditional displays by Itsogwa, Egah, Eriyekia etc, with sounds of the Ekpema royal drums, while the people chant "ohloh, Itamhisado ohloh"....

We gathered that the enthronement will take place in no distant time, where the governor is expected to present staff of office and other royal documents to him. It is believe that the people are anxiously waiting for the day, because, the late monarch died 6 years ago leaving the throne vacant.

*OKPELLA TOWN:* We gathered that earlier today, 29th Mar, Chiefs, Traditional Council and Kingmakers of Okpella held their regular meeting in the late Okuokpellagbe palace, reaffirmed that the Okuokpellagbe stool still remains vacant until duly filled inline with traditions and the applicable laws....

While condemning the act of converting the community monies and resources meant for development for personal use, the youths in good number trooped in with documents requesting that the traditional council should demand the Security Agencies to arrest Lukman Akemokue together with his gang immediately for their continuous parade as Okpella kings and rulers which the traditional council has described as one of security threats in Okpella.

They also accused him of causing civil unrest by converting the community monies to his personal use which has caused tension and mayhem in Okpella. Saying; "Akemokue Lukman and a few of his friends have continued to pilfer the collective resources of our People, if the Nigeria Police failed to arrest and investigate him within seven (7) days they'll have no other choice than to apprehend him for the police because they can no longer condole his character that has threatened and continue threatening the peace and security of the Okpella.

The youths immediately drop a copy of a petition to the traditional council and proceeded to the Okpella Divisional Police Station to drop same petition to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). The youths who gave the DPO seven (7) days ultimatum to arrest and investigate Lukman Akemokue or they arrest Lukman themselves and bring to the police because they can no longer condole his criminal acts were accompanied to the palace and to the station by all the Local Operatives who pledges their total cooperation with the Nigeria Police to ensure that peace and order are maintained Okpella forthwith.
