THE GIRL WHO REJECTED DEATH
Episode 5 (Final Episode)
Blood continued dripping from the senior officer’s nose.
His hands trembled.
Fear filled his eyes.
“No…” he whispered. “This can’t be happening.”
The mysterious girl looked at him sadly.
“You’ve been marked,” she said quietly.
The officer stumbled backward.
“There must be a way to stop this!”
For the first time since entering the mansion, the dark figure spoke.
Its voice sounded like thunder.
“There is only one way.”
Everyone froze.
The girl tightened her grip on the teddy bear.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
“No,” she whispered.
The shadow figure turned toward her.
“The curse ends tonight.”
The officers and maids watched in confusion.
Then the girl revealed the final truth.
“The ritual was never completed.”
Silence filled the mansion.
“When they tried to sacrifice me years ago, I escaped before the ceremony ended. My soul survived… but part of the curse remained attached to this teddy bear.”
She looked down at it.
“For years, death followed anyone connected to it.”
The senior officer pointed at the bear.
“Then destroy it!”
The girl shook her head slowly.
“It can only be destroyed by the person carrying the curse.”
Everyone suddenly understood.
She was talking about herself.
The maids began crying.
“You don’t have to do this,” one of them said.
The girl smiled sadly.
“I’ve been waiting for peace for a very long time.”
She walked toward the dark figure.
For the first time, it no longer looked frightening.
Its glowing eyes seemed calm.
Almost gentle.
The girl closed her eyes and hugged the teddy bear tightly.
Then she whispered:
“I forgive them.”
The mansion shook violently.
A bright light exploded from the teddy bear.
CRACK!
The bear split into pieces.
The dark figure slowly began disappearing.
The cold air vanished instantly.
The lights stopped flickering.
Everything became quiet.
When the light faded—
The girl was gone.
Only the torn teddy bear remained on the floor.
A few moments later, the blood stopped flowing from the senior officer’s nose.
He had been saved.
Weeks later, a small memorial was built near the roadside where the girl was first seen standing in the rain.
On it were written the words:
“Sometimes the people we fear the most are the ones who need saving.”
And from that day forward…
Death never returned to the city again.
THE END.
