StatutesSymbol: So many things make you unique as a writer; your descriptive ability is one of them. Can you leave indelible imprints in the mind's eye of your reader, to the extent that they get enmeshed in the scene you have created in your writing?
Can your reader walk the same street you have described in your writing? Can they open that door, enter that home, eat that food, take the exit door and walk back into the street your words have created in their memories?
Ladywithegoldenpen begins today a series called Statutes Symbol, where we give budding writers a platform to hone their skills and win prizes doing so.
Every week, there will be a statute, an image, a symbol, a craft that will be posted here. All you need do is describe in your own words the statute, the symbol, the image, the art work, the totem of worship , the handicraft and win! The best description will be selected by a panel of Artists and a team of Editors and prizes will be given.
It is our intention that this competition spurs all writers into learning how vivid descriptions help in the development of narratives, whether for prose or poetry writing.
Now, here is a wooden statute of a man carving himself. WRITE now, like the post, share, then describe this image in the way you think appropriate. Just a paragraph of not more than 50 words, it could be less, not more!
Heading: The Self made Carver

Submit to: [email protected] or [email protected], include your name, email and contact at the bottom of your work. Deadline for submission is November 14.
