Anambra State Visits Ihiala Local Government Headquarters
Reassures the People of Its Committment Towards their Security.
Today, the State Government through the office of the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, visited the council's Headquarters which was attacked and set ablezed by unknown people at the early hours of 12th January, 2023.
Mr. Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon Tonycollins Nwabunwanne who made the visit in company of the local council's T C Chairman, Hon. Kingsley Obi, Security Agents among others, stated that the visit was to access the area so as to ascertain the level of damage the incident left on them.
The commissioner went further to highlight that the state governor is saddened by the unwarranted attack on the public structure, that he (the governor) has promised not allow those unknown elements who has made themselves enemies of the state to take over the homeland. stressing that the Governor is making serious efforts towards protection of lives and property of all the inhabitants of the state, the commissioner appealled to the people to be patience.
It could be recalled how unknown persons invaded the Ihiala Local headquarters on 12th January around 1am-3am, killed 3 security personnel on duty and burnt down many facilities includes, Traditional Rulers building, HOD's Building, Licensing office building, Education and Social Walfare building, Staff Center building, Education Authority building, NPC Building, Admin block building, Corper's lodge, NULGE building office, INEC Office, Skill Acquisition, Road Safety, 2units Vehicle, 3units motorcycle among others.
