Why Some Babies Refuse to Eat After 6 Months

When babies turn 6 months, they should start taking other foods alongside breast milk. But some babies suddenly refuse to eat, and that can worry any mum.

🔹 Common reasons your baby may reject food:
1️⃣ New taste and texture – It’s strange to them at first.
2️⃣ Teething – The gums hurt, making eating uncomfortable.
3️⃣ Illness – Fever, cold, or sore throat can reduce appetite.
4️⃣ Too much milk – If baby drinks too much milk before mealtime, they’re full.
5️⃣ Forcing food – Makes the baby associate eating with stress.

✅ What to do:
• Be patient keep offering food gently.
• Try smooth purées, then gradually thicker foods.
• Feed when baby is calm and alert.
• Avoid distractions like TV during feeding.
• If refusal continues or baby loses weight, see a doctor.

📌 Every baby eats at their own pace patience, love, and variety make feeding time easier.

WHEN LOVE FINDS US

Episode 3 – Coffee and Confessions

The café smelled of cinnamon and roasted beans, warm against the chill of the morning. Vera sat across from Daniel at a small wooden table by the window, still wondering how she had agreed to this. He had walked into her shop again, asking not for flowers, but for her company.

She told herself it was just coffee. Nothing more.

Daniel stirred his cup slowly, his dark eyes fixed on the swirl of cream. “I lived abroad for a while,” he said at last, breaking the silence. “Came back only recently.”

“Why?” Vera asked, her curiosity surprising even herself.

He hesitated. “Because sometimes, running away doesn’t fix things.” His voice carried a weight, a sadness that lingered between them.

Vera’s heart softened, though she didn’t pry. She knew what it meant to carry pain quietly. Her own past with Michael—the man who had promised forever and left her with nothing but tears—still lived in the corners of her heart.

Yet Daniel’s presence felt different. He didn’t demand, didn’t push. He simply listened, like he had all the time in the world to hear her story, should she ever be ready to tell it.

For the first time in years, Vera laughed at someone’s dry humor, at his teasing remarks about her stubbornness. And as they walked back through the quiet streets, she realized she was no longer thinking of rain or heartbreak. She was thinking of Daniel.

📖 When Love Finds Us

Episode 2 – The Unexpected Customer

The next morning, sunlight spilled through the dusty windows of Vera’s flower shop. The air smelled of roses and lavender, the fragrance wrapping the room like a soft blanket. She always found comfort in mornings here—the quiet hum of the city waking, the rustle of leaves outside, the soft buzz of bees that sometimes sneaked in through the open window.

But today her thoughts kept drifting to the night before.
The stranger. The umbrella. His voice.

She shook her head, arranging tulips into a glass vase. “It was nothing,” she muttered to herself. “Just a kind man. Nothing more.”

The small brass bell above her shop door jingled. Vera looked up, expecting one of her regulars—perhaps Mrs. Adeyemi who always bought lilies for her husband’s grave, or the young couple saving for wedding bouquets.

Instead, it was him.

The stranger.

Her breath caught as he stepped inside, rain no longer clinging to him but leaving behind the faint freshness of last night’s storm. His dark coat was neatly pressed, his posture confident, yet his eyes softened as they landed on her.

“Good morning,” he said, his voice just as deep as she remembered.

Vera nearly dropped the vase. “You…” She cleared her throat quickly, forcing composure. “You’re here.”

He chuckled quietly, his smile more visible now, warmer than the night before. “I hope I’m not intruding.”

“No,” Vera replied, though her heart raced. “Um… what can I get you?”

He glanced around, walking between the rows of flowers. He moved with quiet deliberation, as if every detail fascinated him—the petals, the arrangements, even the soft chalkboard signs Vera had written by hand.

Finally, he turned to her. “Roses. Red ones. A dozen.”

The request struck her. Roses—the flower of love. She bit the inside of her cheek, trying to suppress her curiosity. For who?

“Of course,” she murmured, reaching for the freshest stems. As she tied the ribbon, she could feel his gaze lingering on her, steady and thoughtful. It made her fingers tremble slightly.

She handed him the bouquet. Their hands brushed again, just like the night before. The brief contact sent that same unexplainable warmth through her.

“Thank you,” he said softly. Then, with a pause, “Do you always work alone here?”

Vera blinked, caught off guard. “Yes. It’s my shop. I like it that way.”

There was admiration in his expression, as though he respected her independence. “It suits you,” he said simply.

Before she could reply, the bell rang again, and another customer stepped in. The stranger gave her one last glance, then turned toward the door.

“Wait!” Vera blurted, surprising herself. He stopped, his hand resting on the doorframe.

She swallowed nervously. “I… didn’t get your name.”

He smiled faintly, as if amused by her hesitation. “Daniel.”

The name lingered in the air long after he left, leaving Vera standing among the roses with her heart strangely unsteady.

Daniel.

The man from the rain had a name now.

And Vera knew, with a feeling she couldn’t explain, that this was only the beginning

📖 When Love Finds Us

Episode 1 – The Stranger in the Rain

The rain came suddenly, heavy and relentless, like a thousand drums against the rooftops of the city. Vera pulled her cardigan tighter around herself as she hurried down the quiet street. She had closed her flower shop late—again. The clock had already struck past eight, and the night was colder than usual.

Her shoes splashed through shallow puddles, and she muttered under her breath. She hadn’t brought an umbrella; she never did. The weather forecast had promised clear skies. Typical.

Just as she turned the corner, a car sped past, spraying water across her legs.

“Perfect,” she sighed, stopping under a flickering streetlamp to catch her breath.

That was when she saw him.

A tall figure stood just a few steps away, half-hidden by the curtain of rain. His dark coat clung to his broad shoulders, his face shadowed beneath the edge of an umbrella. The stranger took a slow step forward, his gaze catching hers. There was something arresting about his eyes—deep, steady, as though he wasn’t merely looking at her, but into her.

“Looks like you could use this,” he said, his voice calm, almost musical.

Before Vera could protest, he tilted the umbrella toward her, shielding her from the rain. For a moment, all she could hear was the steady drumming above their heads, cocooning them in a small, private world.

“I—I can’t take your umbrella,” Vera stammered, blinking at him.

“You can,” he replied softly. “I don’t mind the rain.”

Her lips parted, unsure what to say. Strangers didn’t just appear out of nowhere with kindness like this, not in her world. She wanted to ask his name, but something in his expression held her still—like a secret he wasn’t ready to tell.

He gave her the handle of the umbrella, his fingers brushing lightly against hers. The touch was fleeting, but it sent an unexpected warmth racing through her veins.

“Thank you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the rain.

The stranger only gave her a faint smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes. Then, as if he had never been there at all, he stepped back into the storm.

“Wait—” she called, but the word dissolved into the night.

By the time she turned, he was gone. The rain fell harder, but Vera barely noticed. She stood under the umbrella, her heart strangely unsteady.

Who was he?

And why did it feel like, in those brief seconds, he had changed something inside her?
