ASTUC YOUTH CELEBRATES ANA0CHA COMMUNITY ROLE MODELS
The Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) Youth Community Role Model and Shared Values Programme continued in Anaocha Local Government Area, with outstanding individuals recognized for their contributions to community development and public service. The event was held at the Neni Civic Centre, Neni.
The Anaocha Local Council Mayor, Mr. Rome Ibekwe, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, were among those recognized for their contributions to the development of their communities and the state.
The ten communities of Anaocha also celebrated their respective role models: Chief Hon. Sir Ejiofor Ikeobi (Obeledu), Nnaemeka Chisom Ugha (Agulu), Chief Hon. Obialdi Ayodele Ndubisi (Adazi-Nnukwu), Barr. Prince Chukwudi Oli (Nri), Chief Cletus Obiabono (Neni), High Chief John Ezeanidike (Akwaeze), Engr. Cosmas Chinwendu Eweni (Aguluzigbo), Hon. Patrick Estate Onyedum (Ichida), Chief Sir Barr. Jideofor Okwongwu (Adazi-Enu), and Chief Hon. Dr. Gerald Ikechukwu Ozoh (Adazi-Ani).
Addressing the gathering, ASTUC Youth President-General, Comr. Ken Okoli, said the initiative was designed to promote values including integrity, service, accountability, excellence, discipline, hard work, innovation, peace, unity, compassion, empowerment and community development. He urged youths to learn from those making positive contributions and become agents of progress in their communities.
The programme also highlighted the need for communities to embrace the development-oriented values associated with the administration of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, particularly in human capital development, innovation, responsible leadership and community transformation. ASTUC Youth said celebrating positive role models would encourage more citizens, especially young people, to contribute to building a more prosperous and livable Anambra.
