2026 JAMB REGISTRATION

JAMB has commenced registration for candidates, including those from foreign countries, interested in the 2026 UTME.

Registration can only be carried out only at accredited and approved JAMB CBT registration centres.

Before proceeding for registration, candidates are required to purchase the JAMB ePIN. Candidates who already have their ePIN should download and completely fill the JAMB Registration Template before visiting any accredited CBT registration centre.

The registration exercise closes on Saturday, 28th February, 2026.

This is to inform the general public that JAMB has officially closed the 2025 admission exercise for all public universities (Federal and State) on Monday, 17th November 2025.
"You can still change to new university and new courses".

BUT, Candidates can no longer carry out Change of Course or Change of Institution to any public university on the JAMB portal; all other changes remains valid.

POINT 02: All candidates who completed their Change of Course/Institution on or before 17th November 2025 are still eligible for admission. Their applications will continue to be processed by the respective institutions.

Candidates whose admission status currently shows “Admission in Progress” are not affected. Their admissions remain valid and will continue to be handled by the institutions.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
• Only Public Universities (Federal & State) admissions have closed.
Private University Admission still available till 30th November.

• Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Monotechnics & Colleges of Nursing admission closes on 31st December.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence on Friday, January 31, 2026, and conclude on Wednesday, March 5, 2026. This period is crucial for prospective candidates to complete their registration and prepare for the examination.

Key Dates for JAMB 2026
- UTME Registration: January 31 – March 5, 2026
- Direct Entry (DE) Registration: March 10 – April 7, 2026
- Mock Exam Slip Reprinting: April 5, 2026
- Mock Exam Date: April 10, 2026
- Main Exam Slip Reprinting: April 18, 2026
- Main UTME Exam: April 25 – May 5, 2026
- Result Release: May 7, 2026

Registration Fees
- UTME (without Mock): ₦7,200
- UTME (with Mock): ₦8,200
- Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700

Compulsory Novel
Candidates are required to read "The Lekki Headmaster" by Kabir Alabi Garba as part of the examination syllabus.

Registration Guidelines
- Accredited Centers: Registration must be completed at JAMB-approved CBT centers.
- Unique Mobile Number: Each candidate must use a unique mobile number for registration.
- National Identification Number (NIN): A valid NIN is mandatory for registration.

𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐈𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓: 4 KEY MISTAKES TO AVOID IN 2026 JAMB UTME REGISTRATION

As the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) approaches, with registration expected to commence in early 2026, it's crucial for aspiring candidates to learn from the pitfalls that derailed many in the 2025 cycle. These errors, often stemming from haste or lack of preparation, led to frustration, delayed admissions, and even outright disqualifications.

By addressing them head-on, you can streamline your process and increase your chances of success.

1⃣ USING SOMEONE ELSE's SIM CARD: Many used others' SIMs, missing JAMB SMS updates.
"JAMB mandates the use of a personal National Identification Number (NIN)-linked SIM for profile creation (via USSD code *312 # or *55019 #). This SIM becomes your primary communication channel throughout the process, from registration to CAPS monitoring."

Fix: Use your NIN-linked personal SIM; keep it active until admission.

2⃣ REGISTERING WITH INACCESSIBLE EMAIL ACCOUNTS: A lot of candidates used email addresses created by cyber cafés, some didn’t even know the passwords. As a result, they lost access to their JAMB profiles, couldn’t reset passwords, and missed vital admission updates.
Create a GMAIL ACCOUNT YOU OWN AND CAN ACCESS EASILY. Save the password securely (in your phone, notes, or email backup). You’ll use it from registration through to admission.

3⃣ NAME MISMATCHES: Document variations (e.g., order, spelling) blocked verifications. Before 2026 registration, meticulously cross-check all key documents- your NIN slip, WAEC/NECO results, birth certificate, and any other O'Level credentials.
This subtle error "silently destroyed" numerous admissions in 2025. Variations like "GABRIEL UFUOMA" on JAMB forms versus "UFOMA GABRIEL" on WAEC results, or added initials like "M" in one document but not others, triggered verification failures during admission processing.

Ensure names are identical in spelling, order, and format (e.g., no abbreviations unless consistent). If discrepancies exist, rectify them early, by visiting NIMC for NIN corrections or WAEC for result amendments.

• During registration at an accredited CBT center, double-check the form preview before submission. Consistency here prevents costly delays.

NOTE: Align names on NIN, WAEC/NECO, birth certificate before registering.

4⃣ CHOOSING THE WRONG SUBJECT COMBINATION: High scores wasted due to course mismatches. Each course has specific compulsory subjects outlined in the JAMB brochure. Wrong combinations invalidate your eligibility, wasting your effort and scores, regardless of performance.
Some candidates scored over 280 but still lost admission because they selected incorrect subjects for their chosen course.

Fix: Before registering for JAMB 2026, you are advised to Check JAMB brochure for correct combinations;

Prepare documents, use accredited centers, and always visit Jamb help centre official page for any possible updates.
