I got to the market early this morning, weaving through the noise and colors, and there it was—a big, perfect watermelon. It looked fresh, heavy, and promising. The seller smiled and assured me it was sweet inside. I didn’t think twice. I carried it home like a small victory.
Later that evening, I cut it open, already imagining the cool, juicy taste. But the moment the knife split it, a sour smell rose up. The inside was soft, pale, and already spoiling. All that excitement faded into disappointment.
That day taught me something simple but important: not everything that looks good on the outside is worth it. So please, when you’re buying a full watermelon in the market, take your time. Check it well. Ask questions. Because sometimes, what looks perfect can already be going bad inside.
