Look at the smile, fine, calm, and genuine. Look at the elegance, the confidence, the beauty. Look at those eyes, that peaceful expression.

Someone commented here suggesting that instead of discussing these issues or making posts addressing both women and men, we should simply “pray for a good spouse.” That was a beautiful piece of advice however, prayer is important, but there is also work that must be done.

I once knew a pastor who preached passionately about how husbands should treat their wives, buy gifts, show love, and care for them. Yet in his own home, he practiced the opposite. There was neglect, domestic issues, and even ab . His wife must have prayed, but prayer alone did not protect her from a bad marriage.

God gave you a brain for a reason, use it. Apply wisdom. Observe, learn, and choose carefully. The posts you read, the discussions you engage in, and the experiences you hear about can help you understand the kind of person you should or should not commit to. Discernment and understanding people’s thought patterns matter greatly.

So when you engage with posts here, pay attention. Learn how to navigate your life thoughtfully and intentionally. You are not here to argue, you are here to learn.

If you don’t have money as a man, at the very least, strive to be a man of integrity, be a vi rg in, honor yourself, and respect your future partner. Learn practical skills that add value: become a good cook, know how to clean, and take care of yourself and your surroundings. Invest in yourself in every way you can, even in int im acy, be attentive and skilled in be d.

You cannot afford to be broke, lazy, and incompetent in every area of life all at once. Life and marriage require contribution, effort, and personal growth. If you have nothing to offer. no skills, no discipline, no ambition, then what do you bring to a marriage? What can you give that improves the life of your partner or builds a stable family?

Marriage is not just about showing up; it’s about partnership, support, and value. If you cannot contribute in meaningful ways, then it’s time to work on yourself before you expect to be a suitable partner.

There is a scripture in the Word of God that every Christian especially single parents should hold on to. Particularly for single parents who are living on their own and facing difficulties.

In Genesis 21:14, a single mother who was sent away with her child, faced hardship, cried to God, and God provided for her through an angel.
God made a way where there seemed to be none.

This scripture is a reminder and a code for single parents. When you are struggling, call upon Jehovah El-Roi. He is the God who sees, provides, and sustains.

Patriarchy is deeply rooted in Nigeria, and women must learn to navigate it wisely.

Take Geh Geh and Saida Boj as an example. Saida Boj became popular before Geh Geh, yet judging by visibility, numbers, and perceived achievements, he appears to have surpassed her because Nigeria is still a patriarchal society. The system often rewards men more easily. Ironically, Geh Geh frequently speaks in ways that disfavour women, yet many of his supporters are women.

It will surprise you to know that when women speak up for other women, they are often t@c kéd by men, even by fellow women.
Many are afraid that calling out b@d male behavior will affect their chances of becoming a “Mrs” so they end up defending poorly behaved men.

The truth is, society makes success easier for men. Women often have to work twice or three times harder to get the same results.
So if you’re a woman living in a patriarchal system, relationships can function as a p0veRty alleviation scheme.

Before anyone starts getting worked up over this post, this is exactly what men have been doing for years. They abandon their children their own flesh and blood and leave the responsibility entirely to women, to the mothers, without remorse or conscience. Some of them even say it openly and use it as a bragging right, telling women, “I will turn you into a single mother.”
They do this just so they can later come online to drag women, laugh at them, and mock them.
But that era is slowly coming to an end. The more women begin to develop strategies and take control, the more men start appreciating single mothers. And the more men begin to truly appreciate women, the more that ridiculous question, “What do you bring to the table?” starts disappearing.
The truth is that a large percentage of men in Nigeria, and even globally, are not financially stable. Now imagine having to cater for children alone without the presence or support of a woman. The financial strain, mental stress, and physical toll would be overwhelming.
This reality serves as a powerful lesson. It drives home the point that women give more, sacrifice more, and carry a heavier burden in relationships than their male counterparts often acknowledge.

As a lady, focus on empowering yourself and making yourself valuable.Get an education and learn skills with a high turnover rate.
If you come from a background with little or no financial support, avoid capital-intensive skills at the beginning. Learn skills that are easy to monetize, have high patronage, and do not require years of customer building before you start seeing results. Learn skills that can generate income quickly.

There are many skills you can learn, but for now, let us focus on those that work faster and require little startup capital.

Hairdressing:
The turnover rate is very high, and you do not need large capital to start. People will always need their hair done.

Cake baking and pastries:
This is extremely important. Everyone eats. You can supply to eateries, supermarkets, events, and individuals. Baking will always be in demand.
These skills will always remain relevant.
Makeup, clothing, fashion design, and tech skills can come later. They are good skills, but they may not be ideal if you lack a strong financial background at the beginning.
