*Breaking: Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies at 82 in London*

London, July 13, 2025 – Nigeria’s former President, *Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), GCFR,* has passed away at the age of *82.* The announcement was made by his official spokesperson, *Garba Shehu,* who confirmed that the former leader died peacefully on Sunday afternoon in a London clinic, following a period of illness.

Born on *December 17, 1942,* in *Daura, Katsina State,* Muhammadu Buhari rose through the ranks of the Nigerian Army and first assumed national leadership as the country’s military Head of State from *1983 to 1985.* Over three decades later, he returned to power through the ballot, serving as Nigeria’s democratically elected President from *2015 to 2023.*

Widely regarded as a disciplined and principled leader, Buhari built his political reputation on the fight against corruption, national security, and infrastructural development. His administration invested heavily in road and rail projects, prioritized agriculture, and made efforts to revive the economy through various social intervention programs. His tenure, however, was also marked by economic challenges, widespread insecurity, and criticisms over civil liberties.

Throughout his leadership—both military and civilian—Buhari maintained a reputation for personal integrity and frugality. He remained a significant figure in Nigeria’s political history, commanding respect even beyond office.

Tributes have begun pouring in from across Nigeria and around the world. Political leaders, traditional rulers, diplomats, and citizens have expressed condolences, acknowledging his contributions to the nation’s development and governance.

Details regarding funeral arrangements are expected to be released by the family and relevant authorities in the coming days.

With his passing, Nigeria bids farewell to one of its most enduring and consequential statesmen.

*May his soul rest in peace.*

🕯️ A Dark Cloud Falls Upon Nigerian Football… Farewell, Dodo Mayana 💔

How much heartbreak can one football family endure? 😢

As we were just beginning to recover from the shocking passing of Diogo Jota, another devastating blow has hit us right at the core…

Peter Rufai… Our own Dodo Mayana… has left this world.

The name Dodo Mayana was not just a name—it was a heartbeat of an entire generation. He was more than a goalkeeper; he was a wall of hope, a fearless lion who guarded our posts with unmatched pride.

We remember him vividly—

The commanding figure in green, standing tall in Tunisia ‘94…

The safe hands that brought Nigeria its second AFCON trophy…

The leader who inspired millions with his bravery and passion.

Today, we mourn not just the passing of a man—but the fading of an era, the departure of a hero who made us believe in the power of the Nigerian spirit.

This hurts. It hurts deeply.

👉 If you ever witnessed Peter Rufai in his prime, you’ll understand why today feels so heavy.

Tonight, we ask only one thing:
Say a silent prayer for his soul… whisper his name… and thank God for blessing Nigeria with such a legend.

Rest well, Dodo Mayana. 🕊️
Thank you for everything you gave us—on the pitch and beyond.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Much love from The Hugest Man Alive.
🕯️ Sleep peacefully, King.
