Edo State Executive Council Approves ₦914 Million Payment Following Court Judgment**

‎In a significant development, the Edo State Executive Council, led by Governor Monday Okpebholo, has approved the payment of ₦914 million to Mr. Tony Kabaka. The payment settles a court judgment awarded in Mr. Kabaka’s favor after his property—a hotel—was demolished by the previous administration under Governor Godwin Obaseki.

‎Information Commissioner Paul Ohonbamu briefed journalists after the weekly EXCO meeting at Government House, Benin City, emphasizing the government’s commitment to upholding court decisions. “Kabaka took the state government to court and he won. Government is a continuum, and this government inherited that judgment,” he stated.

‎He further remarked, “As a governor who believes that decisions of the court are to be obeyed, today EXCO has approved the sum the court ordered to be paid. The beneficiary will know that we have a governor who is thoughtful, law-abiding, and believes that justice must be rooted in confidence.”

‎This action signals Governor Monday Okpebholo’s dedication to justice and adherence to legal rulings, despite the complexities left by previous administrations.

Prince Edwin Idahosa, popularly known as the Social Media President, recently took a tour of Okhuo Road — the crucial route connecting New Lagos Road to the Igue-Adolor link leading to Useh Road. This road serves as an important bypass between Use Road, Igue-Adolor, and the Lagos-Benin-Sapele corridor.

‎ Currently, Okhuo Road is in a state of severe disrepair, making travel difficult and unsafe for residents and commuters alike.
‎
‎During his visit, Prince Edwin appealed earnestly to Edo State Governor, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, to prioritize the urgent rehabilitation of the road.
‎
‎Several residents also voiced their concerns, pleading with the state government to step in and restore this vital artery that supports daily movement and commerce in the area.
‎
‎Their collective hope is that swift government action will bring relief and improve the quality of life for all who depend on Okhuo Road.
