CHANNELS OF AN ENCOUNTER
One of the major way the situation of a Christian changes for good is through encounters. Many people in the scriptures receive answers to their prayers through encounter, their destines were changed through encounter. In this post I will be explaining the ways a Christian can have an encounter with God for divine turnaround and testimonies .
1. Dream
1 Kings 3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
1 Kings 3:9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
1 Kings 3:15 And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
Sacrifice can make a believer to have an encounter for greater exploits. After Solomon had offered a thousands burnt offering, God appeared to him in a dream. Solomon slept a confused man, troubled man uncertain about the future but woke up as the wisest and richest man on earth because of an encounter. God met him in the dream, may God meet you in the dream in Jesus name... Amen.
2. Vision
The Acts 10:3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
The Acts 10:4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
The Acts 10:5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
The Acts 10:6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. Another way a believer can encounter God for greater Glory is through visions. These visions can come in different ways like trance, mind vision and open vision.
3. Through God's chosen Vessel:
One major Channel of an encounter with God is through his chosen vessel. There are men tried by God with whom he hs vested His authority upon them to act on his behalf. A major example is Ananais of Damascus who was sent to Paul during his conversion. The Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
The Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
There are people with the authority of God vested upon them to bring you to destiny. The earlier you recognize them the better your experience in Christ.
4. Angels walking physically as men or Angels: In. Genesis 18 , the three men that met Abraham were angels.
Yes it is biblical , you can meet some people that are not real human unknown to you that they are angels . The angel that brought Peter out of prison came physically as an angel .

DESTROY THEIR ALTARS

Exodus 34:13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
One major command God gave Christians concerning ungodly altars is to destroy them, break their images and cut down their groove. An ungodly altar is any thing, place or structure that can be used to trap the dimensions of demonic spirits. In Africa, many of these altars exist as almost every family can be traced to have a connection to an altar . Ungodly altars trap the dimensions of fallen spirits, wicked demons and their human agents. They are medium for spiritual transactions that affects people destiny, where the destinies of men are being mortgaged for immediate satisfaction.
On the contrary our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit , which means just as ungodly altars trap dimensions of evil spirits, we trap the dimensions of the Holy spirit and He lives in us. 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. God the Father, the son and Holy Spirit lives in us .. Alleluia. We have been commanded by God not to have anything to do with demonic altars but to destroy them. We destroy them through prayers, fasting , reading the scriptures and almsgiving. However if we are given the permission to destroy them physically , we destroy them. Altars can become a snare to a believer if you make covenants with them, or partake in the activities of the altar. To successfully destroy demonic altars, you will need to raise an altar of righteousness , The Holy spirit who is the supervising spirit of a godly altar will give you instructions on what to do to destroy any ungodly altar raised against you. For you to advance a Godly altar, you will need a lot of sacrifice through fasting, regimented and consistent prayer, alms giving, church service etc. When you have successfully raised a godly altar, that altar will counter the effect, operations of the ungodly altars . Secondly is to wage an aggressive warfare against every ungodly altar speaking against you. You do this by denouncing them, and commanding their hold over your life to break in Jesus Name .

IDENTITY THEFT

Genesis 27:19 And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
Identity theft is a reality in the spirit realm. Satan have three fold mission, to steal, to kill and destroy. Satanic agents both demons and humans deploy this technology to rob people of their blessings , favor and even their life. In subsequent post I will discuss the principle of exchange, destiny swap and so on. In this post I will narrow my explanation to how someone's identity can stolen to take what rightfully belong to him. Identity theft is when somebody steals your identity, impersonates you with the aim of taking what rightfully belong to you, create a wrong image of your person or to disadvantage youin any context. In the verse cited above you see Jacob masquerading as Esau inorder to take the blessing. Satan steals anything that can be stolen in as much as it will give him advantage. Genesis 27:22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
Isaac had doubts because the voice he heard seem like Jacob's voice and he wasn't expecting Jacob however when he felt him it was Esau he felt because Jacob was wearing Esau's garment. Jacob stole Esau's name, his garment and the assignment given to Esau.
There are some facts I want you to note here , It is the hands that receive the blessing, and the hand Jacob came with was the hand of Esau.
To deal with the issue of identity theft, you need revelation of the word. Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. You need to turn on the light because dishonest exchange of such can only be successful in the dark. Isaac eyes were deem because of old age and could not see clearly . Remember, it was in the night Leah was given to Jacob instead of Reachel. The word of God will reveal every hidden thing and expose every falsehood.
Secondly , you need to be firm in prayer, because it was when men slept that an enemy sowed tares among the wheat. When men sleeps, a lot of things can be stolen. Spiritual slumber is never an advantage to a believer. St. Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. The scripture already made it clear to us that we have an enemy who is the devil.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Sleeping when your enemy is awake and operating is such a big disaventage .
May God of mercy expose every enemy that have stolen your identity to disadvantage you, and restore all that have been taken from you in Jesus name .. amen

THE SPIRIT OF ELIJAH
St. Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
The spirit of Elijah is that dimension of the Holy Spirit that brings revival. It is the spirit of prayer , deep and intense prayer which usually end in revival. One of the major Hallmark of revival is massive repentance, people turning to God in large numbers. It was prophesied in the book of Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
The revival that was going to prepare the way for Jesus's manifestation was going to be heralded by John the Baptist, who will manifest that dimension of the Holy Spirit as seen in Elijah.
During the time of Ahab's Apostasy , Elijah was that prophet God used to bring the children of Isreal back to Himself. After the fire on Mount Carmel, the children of Isreal returned to God.1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
1 Kings 18:39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God. It is the spirit that has the capacity to turn the heart of the children to the father and the father to the children . That dimension of the Holy Spirit is needed again in our time. We have heard of the stories of revival like the Asuza street revival and many others . It is the manifestation of the spirit of Elijah, that dimension of the Holy spirit that was birthed in John the Baptist , during the days of John the Baptist , people were coming from all regions to meet him for repentance and baptism. He even called them brood of vipers. St. Luke 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
That dimension of the Holy Spirit can only be birthed in the womb of prayer. Elijah was a man of the mountains , a man of prayer. We live in a generation where people care less about God and more about money and pleasure. People want to see result evidence not minding the process. We need the spirit of Elijah in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large, Let the wind blow once again in our time. Let revival come, Let the Holy spirit once again move through the hearts of men for massive and genuine repentance and conversion.
James 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
James 5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Elijah was a man like you and I but what distinguished him was prayer , he has fears, feelings , weakness, strength just like us but he prayed. Something happen to a man when he prays, I pray that as you go into the place of Prayer , may your life be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ...

1 Samuel 19:12 So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
When Saul was anointed King of Isreal, his main assignment was to lead the people in battle against their enemies. The Philistines were their major enemy then. Saul did not have to fight to get the throne of Isreal, God gave to him for free, but why is he fighting David now to retain the throne because he has lost touch with God. His constant violations of the ordinances of God made God to reject him. Fighting David was a wrong assignment for Saul because God did not command him to fight David but the enemies of Isreal. A wrong assignment is a task you take upon yourself that is not from God. It is either a motivation of the flesh, the world or Satan. If God is not the one commanding, then someone else is commanding and that person is Satan. He works through the flesh and the cares of this world .Saul had already fell out with God, instead of him to find a way to make ammend, he took up a wrong task of fighting David, the Lord's anointed. Many Christians today are on a wrong assignment , they now fight anyone they perceive as their enemy. They have left the assignment God gave them to fighting anyone they feel threaten by his success . Saul became angry with David when the women sang '' Saul kill a thousand , David kill ten thousand '' and decided from then that he would eliminate David. If you are in leadership position , resist the temptation of being threatened by the gifts , achievement and prowess of those you are called to lead. Dont fight them or pull them down because of their gifts or ability. Resist the temptation of trying to do or get anything about God for yourselves. Don't put yourself first but God, if it please God then, it is ok with you. Satan wants you to forget about your assignment and be chasing shadows, fighting those you are suppose to help build up. God will not reward you for every wrong assignment you carry out, instead of a reward , what you will get is condemnation. Focus on your relationship with God rather than who is getting on better than you.

ROCK OF ESCAPE

1 Samuel 23:26 And Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men on the other side of the mountain. And David made haste to get away for fear of Saul, for Saul and his men were surrounding [him] and his men to capture them.
1 Samuel 23:27 But a messenger came to Saul, saying, Make haste and come, for the Philistines have made a raid on the land.
1 Samuel 23:28 So Saul returned from pursuing David and went against the Philistines. So they called that place the Rock of Escape.
To escape is to be free from a looming danger or harm. Saul in his quest to kill David had inquired where he was and mobilsed soldiers to take him. On this particular occasion he almost got David for him men had encompassed him, round him up to finished him . Then a call came that the Philistines have invaded the land and Saul turned away from pursuing David to fight the Philistines .
God was with David on every side, but have rejected Saul. The First key to Escape is the
1. Presence of God.
Obadiah 1:17
But on Mount Zion there shall be those that escape,
and it shall be holy;
and the house of Jacob shall take possession of those who dispossessed them.
On mount Zion , there shall be escape, it is those that were able to make it to mount Zion that will escape. Mount Zion is the dwelling place of God. We ascend to mount Zion through Praises and worship, Prevailing Prayers, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
It is he that dwelleth in the secret place, the place of Prayer, that will come under the protection of the Almighty.
2. The second is Calling on the name of the Lord.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Calling the name of Jesus is one sure way of escape. The bible says it is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it and are saved.
Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
3. Righteous living. It is the righteous that runneth to the name of Jesus which is a strong tower that are saved. David was righteous before God, that was why God provided a means of escape for him.

AN ENCOUNTER FIXES A DATE FOR A PROMISE.
Genesis 18:10 The Lord said, “I will certainly come back to you in about a year’s time, and your wife Sarah will have a son!” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance of the tent behind him.
Abraham was 75 years when God promised him a son, before the fulfilment of that promise , there was a long period of waiting. It was recorded in the scripture that Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. He held on this believe for about 25years hoping for the fulfilment.
When God makes a promise to you as a Christian especially the one that will clearly define your destiny, most times you will have to wait on the Lord. During this waiting period, a lot of things in your life will be tested , any aspect of your flesh that will bring reproach to God and his kingdom will be judged. The best heart posture that is required to survive this period is a heart of absolute trust and obedience. Just be doing the good works you have always been doing and God will show up someday.
Luke 24:49 And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”

In this verse , Jesus promised His Holy spirit . gave them the location, which was Jerusalem, but did not give them time. He however told them to wait. That waiting took ten days. From ascension to pentecost is ten days. An encounter with God is what puts an end to waiting. Jesus is king, he comes when He want to, don't get tired of waiting. The day He comes will mark an end to that waiting. We wait in he prayer, fasting, study of His world and fellowship with one another until we are transformed .
This year desire an encounter with Jesus, have a fasting and prayer schedule, give alms regularly. And Jesus will meet you half way.

DIVINE ENCOUNTER WILL CHANGE YOUR NAME.
Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
One of the many things that an encounter with God will do for a believer is a change of name. There is basically three name every man have;
1. The name your Parents gave you.
2. The name situation or circumstances gave you, for example the woman with the issue of blood, the cripple at the beautiful gate, that woman that dont have child, that brother who is always looking for job, etc. You might just be in for a big shock if you see what people use to save your number in their phone.
3. The name that proceed from the mouth of God.
Isaiah 62:2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
The most important name is the one that proceed from the mouth of God. Like Jacob named Isreal. Before Jacob's encounter with the angel he wrestled with, his life was characterized with cheating. If he is not supplanting someone, someone will be shortchanging him. He also had a past he was afraid of, an unfinished battle that he was about to meet. That was his brother Esau bacause his brother promised he would kill him the next time he see him. This was what made him to send the rest away and was alone to himself where he prayed. The challenges of life most time gives christians a false identity which is not consistent with the glory of Jesus Christ that we are suppose to manifest. Don't allow them to overwhelm you, rather take them to God in prayer and pray until something happens. If you don't give up, your challenges will give. Let your challenges be the fuel that would drive you to seek God in prayer and fasting. If you are persistent , you will have an encounter with God that will change your situation forever. Change your name from a debtor to a lender, nonentity to celebrity, sick one to a healthy one, poor man to a rich man etc. To press on in Prayer means to wrestle like Jacob , saying '' I will never let you go , unless you bless me''. I pray for you dear reader as you press in prayer , may God be gracious to give an encounter that will change your name in Jesus name amen....
