A STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE, LOYALTY, AND TRUTH
My attention has been drawn to certain conversations and deliberate attempts to question my loyalty, my character, and my commitment to our people.
Ordinarily, I would not respond to whispers and private attacks. But when falsehood is repeated enough, it becomes necessary to speak clearly and truthfully.
Let me state this without ambiguity.
Loyalty is not a weakness to me. It is a principle I have lived by all my life.
Those who know me, know this. I do not abandon people when times change. I do not betray trust for convenience. I do not shift positions because money is offered.
No amount of money can buy my principles.
No political opportunity can make me compromise my integrity.
My name, my honour, and my word are worth far more than any temporary gain.
It is painful that anyone would suggest otherwise.
If there is one thing my life and journey have shown, it is that I have remained steadfast in service, in friendship, and in commitment, even when it came at personal cost to me.
So let no one be deceived by narratives designed to weaken trust.
As for those trying to rewrite the conversation around representation and fairness, let us also speak honestly.
Uromi had a clear opportunity to secure the Senate during the bye-election. Sadly, some of the very voices now pushing that agenda were among those whose actions contributed to that opportunity being lost.
History must not be ignored when it becomes inconvenient.
Today, our federal representation arrangement is clear. Uromi currently holds the House of Representatives seat and has only completed the first half of what should be an eight-year cycle before it rightfully rotates to Ubiaja.
Why should that process now be truncated?
Why should agreements and political balance be sacrificed for personal ambition and selfish interests?
Justice cannot be selective.
Equity cannot be manipulated.
Power-sharing must mean something.
This is not about one man.
This is about fairness.
This is about honouring understandings.
This is about protecting trust within our political family and among our people.
I refuse to engage in bitterness.
