The Senate has taken a firm stance on national security by declaring kidnapping and banditry as terrorism, with the maximum penalty being death. The Senate has also ruled that judges are not permitted to overturn or reduce the sentence without imposing a fine. To implement this decision, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has been directed to introduce a formal amendment bill in the shortest possible time.

Breaking!!! News......The people of Kurama Chiefdom in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State have cried out over N500 million being demanded as ransom by bandits before the release of 13 residents of the area, including an ECWA Pastor.

They said that it was impossible for them to raise such an amount.

The Senate has finally declared kidnapping and banditry as acts of terrorism.
They also approved the death penalty for anyone found guilty — with no option of fine and no judge allowed to reduce the sentence.

They’ve asked Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele to bring the amendment bill as quickly as possible so this can be fully written into law.
