I almost cried in my shop today. 😭
A woman came in, picked shoes, a bag, and accessories worth good money. I was already thanking God because sales have been slow.
When it was time to pay, she looked at me and said,
“Can I pay later? I’ll transfer tomorrow.”
For a second, I wanted to agree immediately. But something told me to be careful.
I smiled and said,
“My sister, if I give you these things on credit, who will pay my rent, my children’s needs, and the supplier?”
She became quiet.
Then something unexpected happened…
She opened her bag, counted the money she had, and said,
“You’re right. Let me buy only what I can truly afford today.”
As she left, she turned back and said,
“Thank you for not embarrassing me.”
That moment taught me something:
Not every customer who asks for credit is wicked, and not every business owner who says no is heartless.
Sometimes, both people are just trying to survive.
