The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has reassured residents that there is no security threat or bandit activity within the council area, urging members of the public to disregard unverified reports capable of causing panic.
In a press briefing and public broadcast aired through the council's verified Facebook platform, the chairman stated emphatically that Olorunda LCDA remains peaceful and secure, contrary to rumours circulating on social media.

Hon. Kumanyon maintained that there has been no serious breach of security in any part of the council and called on residents to continue their lawful businesses and daily activities without fear.

According to him, the safety of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that the council is working closely with security agencies and community stakeholders to sustain peace and order across Olorunda LCDA.

The council boss also issued a strong warning against the dissemination of false and unverified information, noting that fake news has the potential to create unnecessary tension and undermine public confidence.
"I urge all residents to verify information before sharing it. We must all act responsibly and avoid spreading rumours capable of causing panic in our communities," he said.

Hon. Kumayon further reiterated his administration's commitment to maintaining a secure environment that promotes economic activities, social harmony, and community development.
Residents have been advised to rely only on official communication channels and verified sources for information relating to security and public safety matters.

The Lagos State University has officially commenced its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for both UTME (100 Level) and Direct Entry (200 Level) candidates seeking admission into the institution.
According to a statement released by the university, candidates who selected LASU as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 195 marks are eligible to participate in the mandatory online screening exercise. Applicants must also be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2026.
The university disclosed that the screening exercise covers candidates applying through UTME, Direct Entry, Pre-Degree Studies (PDS), and the LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies (JUPEB) programme.
LASU emphasized that only accredited courses listed for the 2026/2027 academic session will be available for admission consideration, spanning faculties such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Computing and Information Technology, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Environmental Sciences, Arts, Agriculture, Transport and Logistics, among others.
The institution also reiterated that candidates must possess the required O'Level credits relevant to their chosen courses, with Medicine and Dentistry requiring results obtained in only one sitting.
Registration and screening will run for 21 days, beginning from Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and ending on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at midnight.
Prospective candidates are advised to complete their registration and screening procedures through the university's official admissions portal, LASU Admissions Portal⁠�.
The university warned that only candidates who chose LASU as their first-choice institution will be eligible for the screening exercise, while all applicants must ensure their O'Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the closure of the admission process.

Recall that the lawmaker procured over 250 JAMB registration pins for students across Badagry Constituency II as part of efforts aimed at supporting education and easing the financial burden on parents and guardians.
