Ezzagu weeps This bus was fully loaded yesterday 27/4/2025 at afor Ezzagu, it collided with a tanker at awka. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Sector Command, has reported that an accident at Ukpo Junction, along Nteje-Awka Road, resulted in eight fatalities on Sunday night. The Sector Commander, Mrs Joyce Alexander confirmed the incident to newsmen on Monday, in Awka. Alexander said the crash involved a Mack tanker without a registration number and a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number EKP375XM. Alexander attributed the accident to speeding and wrongful overtaking which led to a head-on collision. She said that an eyewitness account and preliminary investigations showed that the bus was traveling from Abakaliki to Onitsha. “The bus was speeding and overtook dangerously before colliding with the tanker, which was heading towards Awka on a single carriageway. “The crash resulted in eight fatalities – four males and four females, while six others comprising two males and four females, were injured. “The rescue team from Nteje attended to the injured victims, transporting them to the hospital for treatment. “They took the bodies of the deceased to Jerusalem Mortuary in Nteje after confirmation by a doctor,” she said. The Sector Commander visited the surviving victims at Regina Caeli Hospital and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital in Awka, to assess their condition and offer support. She condoled with the families of the dead and wished a speedy recovery to the injured victims. Alexander also met with the Chief of taskforce, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, to identify areas for improvement and implement measures to reduce the risk of future accidents. She urged drivers to prioritise their safety and that of others by maintaining a safe speed. “Drivers must ensure they drive at a minimum safe speed and only overtake when the road is clear,” she said.

Breaking News: Assemblies of God Cancels Wedding in Aba Following Bride’s Refusal to Sleep at Parsonage

The leadership of the Assemblies of God Church, Okpu 2, Aba, Abia State, has cancelled a wedding after the bride-to-be refused to sleep at the church’s parsonage, in line with its marriage policy.

According to church tradition, it is mandatory for the bride to spend the night before the wedding at the residence of the host Pastor. This arrangement allows the church to conduct a bl0od pregnancy test a few hours before the wedding ceremony.

However, the bride’s refusal to comply with this policy led the Church to call off the wedding, even after guests had gotten ready for the event.

BREAKING:
The husband of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, Peter Nwachukwu, has been sentenced to death by hanging.

Today, April 28, at the FCT High Court in Abuja, Justice Nwosu-Iheme found Peter guilty of culpable homicide after the death of his wife on April 8, 2022.

The prosecution presented 17 witnesses, including two of Osinachi’s children, and tendered 25 documents in court. Peter and his team tried to defend him with four witnesses, but the evidence was overwhelming.

Before the sentence was passed, his lawyer pleaded for mercy — but the court insisted on justice for Osinachi.

Peter Nwachukwu was sentenced to:

Death by hanging on Count 1

2 years each for several other charges (spousal abuse, cruelty to children, etc.)
