Bob Marley’s wife, Rita Marley, has spent more than 20 years residing in Ghana 🇬🇭 In the 1990s, she relocated to Ghana with Bob Marley’s family. In 2013, she petitioned for and was granted citizenship in Ghana. Rita Marley now has a Ghanaian name — Nana Afua Abodea.
In Ghana’s Aburi, she also has a home. In Accra, Ghana, Rita Marley created a studio in memory of her deceased husband, Bob Marley. The name of it is Studio One. In Ghana, she runs a nonprofit organization. Her foundation, The Rita Marley Foundation, supports charitable endeavors.
Nana Rita Marley started her musical career in the early 1960s as a vocalist with the all-female group The Soulettes, which performed with the Four Tops, Johnny Nash, and other performers of the time. Her single ‘One Draw’, which she released in 1982, was a major hit in Europe but Jamaica 🇯🇲 said it was not fit for airplay. I remember the 'cold war' between Ebenezer Obey and Sunny Ade.

It was the same year I, Greg, sorry Prince Greg Nwoko was born at Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos.

One very annoying thing about it was that 70% of that so called 'cold war' was caused by their various fans and the Nigerian Press.

I remember it was I.K Dairo who waded into the un-called-for rift and settled them.

Obey and Ade were friends, they also added to heating up the situation to their own advantage.

Lyrics in their songs were misinterpreted by fans and the media who looked for any hint of vocal missile to run to town and to press.

The situation added to the high sales of their records, which they released in quick succession.

It was sometime in 1973 in the month of August that in order to tell the whole world they had settled their rivalry, they both played together when KSA visited the ‘Obey Miliki Spot’ at Olonode, Yaba to join Obey on stage.

Benson Nworgu Ogechika Esther wins Nigeria's second medal in the ongoing 2024 Paralympics games

The 21-year-old athlete won the Silver medal in the women’s para-powerlifting event (up to 41kg).

Michael Jackson met Diana Ross for the first time when he was nine years old. Diana Ross housed Michael and his four brother for a year in California while their parents were trying to move from Gary, Indiana.

Michael Jackson developed strong admiration for Diana Ross and he used to call her mamma. When he became a teenager, Michael's feelings for Diana transcended from platonic to romantic and she encouraged it.
