The Deputy National Chairman of our great Party (PDP) North Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam (SANTIRAKIN AKUYAM), received the National Chairman of the Party and led a delegation to pay a condolence visit over the great loss that befell the people of Bauchi State, Nigeria, and the entire Muslim Ummah, the passing of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

National leaders of the party, including the Deputy National Chairman and other key stakeholders of the PDP at the national level, alongside the PDP leadership of Bauchi State, led the delegation to the residence of the deceased to extend their condolences to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON (Kauran Daular Usmaniyya), the Emir of Bauchi, the family of the deceased, and the entire Muslim Ummah.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, conveyed condolences on behalf of all national leaders and the entire All members of the party.
He described the loss as a great tragedy that has shaken the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing that this is indeed a loss for everyone. He further noted that the late Sheikh was a man of exemplary character, widely respected, and blessed with Allah’s mercy. He added that his passing is a significant loss to Nigeria and the Muslim Ummah, acknowledging the enduring legacy of knowledge, piety, and exemplary leadership he left behind.

In conclusion, the National Chairman announced a donation of N50 million on behalf of the party to support hospitality and other needs during the condolence activities.

PDP DEPUTY NATIONAL VICE CHAIRMAN (NORTH) STANDS WITH BAUCHI STATE GOVERNOR AT COMMISSIONING OF MAJOR ROAD PROJECTS

The Deputy National Vice Chairman (North) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam (Santirakin Akuyam), today joined the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (CON, Kauran Daular Usmaniyya), to commission a series of newly completed road projects across four Local Government Areas.

Alhaji Akuyam attended the ceremony on behalf of the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Tanimu Kabiru Turaki (SAN), and was accompanied by other senior party leaders. Their presence pointed out the party's full endorsement of the developmental initiatives being executed by PDP-led state governments across Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Deputy National Vice Chairman commended Governor Mohammed for his commitment to infrastructural development. He praised the Governor’s focus on road construction, community welfare, and the overall progress of Bauchi State, describing him as a champion of democratic progress who leads with wisdom, competence, and patriotism.

Alhaji Akuyam emphasized that Governor Mohammed’s results-driven leadership—built on productivity, integrity, and good governance—is the model Nigeria needs.

He concluded with prayers for the Governor, asking Allah to grant him continued strength, guidance, and success in serving the people of Bauchi State peacefully and honorably.

The commissioned road projects are as follows:

Gamawa LGA: Sakwa Road (28 km)

Shira LGA: Yana – Fago Road (6.68 km)

Giade LGA: Dual road projects (6.6 km)

Misau LGA: Beti – Malam Duba Road (14.45 km)

Darazo LGA: Lanzai – Papa Road (14.45 km)

Inter-LGA Road: Darazo to Gambaki – Gangai – Chinade Road (14.47 km)

All projects are expected to be completed within their scheduled timeframes.

A CALL TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, TO UPHOLD DEMOCRATIC VALUES AND RESPECT MULTI-PARTY SYSTEM IN NIGERIA

We make this call as patriotic citizens of Nigeria, committed to the peace, unity, and progress of our nation, and particularly as loyal members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the country.

It is becoming worrisome that the instruments of federal power are increasingly being deployed to intimidate, undermine, or disrespect the leaders of our great party, the PDP, apparently out of fear or political calculations aimed at suppressing the influence of the opposition in our democratic space.

In a true democratic setting, no political party is superior to another, and once you assume office as President, you become the leader of all Nigerians — members of your party and those who do not belong to your party alike.

We strongly believe that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC fully understand this principle. However, we, the ordinary citizens, must also highlight that actions perceived as attempts to weaken the opposition amount to a direct threat to Nigeria’s democratic foundation. Nigerians are greater than any form of authoritarian tendencies or governance that seeks to silence dissenting voices.

While we continue to pray for peace and stability in our beloved nation, it is disturbing that certain actions taken by the government appear directed at creating tension, provoking conflict, or destabilizing the leadership of the opposition party rather than promoting dialogue and national unity.

We condemn, in strong terms, the reported use of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration to interfere in the internal affairs of the PDP. We call on the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the national leadership of the APC, to immediately withdraw from any form of involvement in matters that concern the PDP.

It is important to remind the public that the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who was publicly disowned by PDP leaders before thousands of party supporters, is no longer a member of the PDP and therefore has no legitimacy or authority to meddle in the affairs of our party. We demand that PDP leaders be allowed to carry out their responsibilities without harassment or political sabotage, for the sake of peace and national development.

In other states governed by PDP, there is no record of intimidation or violation of the rights of other political parties. Every party operates peacefully and without interference. There is no harassment or suppression of any political group, unlike what is currently being done to the PDP in Abuja.

We hope this message reaches His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and serves as a reminder that the strength of democracy lies in fairness, inclusiveness, and respect for all political actors.

PDP National Convention: Bauchi State Leaders Demonstrate Strong Presence and Commitment in Ibadan

The National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), held on Saturday and Sunday, 16th November 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, marked a major milestone for the party as top government officials and distinguished party leaders from across Nigeria gathered for the election of new national officers.

The Bauchi State delegation played an exceptional role throughout the event. Senior PDP stakeholders from the state stood solidly behind His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, and Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, offering their full support to ensure the convention was conducted peacefully and successfully.

His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON (Kauran Daular Usmaniyya), Governor of Bauchi State, served prominently as the Chairman of the Convention Publicity Committee. In this capacity, he led the communication strategies, coordinated media engagements, supervised information flow, and ensured that all official announcements were delivered with professionalism and clarity. His leadership contributed immensely to the smooth organization and success of the convention.
