Governor Bala Mohammed Strengthens Local Security, Donates Vehicles to Vigilante Agency

In his continuous efforts to improve security at the grassroots level, His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has donated seven operational vehicles to the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency.

Speaking during the official handover at Government House Bauchi, the Governor commended the dedication and sacrifice of the vigilante officers, especially their efforts in securing remote areas such as Duguri and Futuk. He praised the leadership of Commandant Umar Aliyu Shayi and acknowledged the crucial role the agency plays in supporting formal security structures.

The Governor noted that the vehicles were provided based on the recommendation of the State Security Committee. He further promised to sustain collaboration with federal agencies, particularly the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), to improve logistics, surveillance, and manpower across the state.

As part of new security strategies, Governor Bala also revealed plans to introduce drone technology for better monitoring in difficult terrains, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to preventing criminal elements from threatening the peace of the state.

Also present at the event were the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Aminu Hammayo, and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Aliyu Omolori, who both applauded the gesture, describing it as timely and necessary in advancing community-based security efforts.

Governor Bala Visits Dass After Windstorm, Approves ₦200 Million Support

Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, today visited Dass LGA to sympathize with communities affected by a strong windstorm that destroyed houses, farmlands, and some public places.

The storm badly hit areas like Durr, Wandi, Bagel Bundot, and parts of Dass town, leaving many families homeless and in urgent need of help.

While at the Emir’s Palace in Dass, Governor Bala met with His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, and shared his deep concern about the disaster. He assured the people that the government is fully behind them during this hard time.

To support the victims, the Governor approved ₦100 million in cash assistance and another ₦100 million worth of building materials to help rebuild damaged homes and public structures.

Together with his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau, and senior officials, Governor Bala visited the worst-hit areas, checked the damage, and gave orders for urgent relief action. He also told local leaders to start planting trees to help prevent such disasters in the future.

The Governor asked that all help and support be shared fairly, making sure it reaches everyone who was affected.

Chairman of Dass LGA, Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Jibo, thanked the Governor for acting fast. He said the local council had already begun checking the damage before the state stepped in.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State chapter, under the committed leadership of Pharm. Sama'ila Adamu Burga (Sarkin Noman Bauchi), held a major stakeholders’ meeting at the party’s main conference hall, at the PDP secretariat along Yan Doka Road, Bauchi.

The meeting brought together key figures and stakeholders from across the state. It served as an important opportunity to discuss the development of the party, strengthen unity among leaders and members, and plan new strategies to empower party leadership from the grassroots level.
