My Farewell Address as President of Biological Sciences Students Association
Fellow BIOSSITES,
As I stand before you today, I am filled with a mix of emotions - sadness to be leaving this role, but also pride and gratitude for the opportunity to have served as your president.
I want to express my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you for your support, trust, and cooperation throughout my tenure. Together, we have achieved great things, and I am proud of the progress we have made.
To my fellow executives, I thank you for your tireless efforts and dedication. We made a great team, and I will always cherish the memories we created together.
During our time in office, we have accomplished numerous feats, including:
- Hosting the first-ever fresher's sensitization outreach and fresher's orientation
- Providing three new notice boards to the department
- Organizing the first-ever leadership summit
- Hosting a free medical general test for our members
- Hosting the inter-option match
- Collaborating with other departmental presidents within the Faculty of Science on joint projects, such as:
- Plantation within the faculty
- Operation Keep Faculty of Science Clean
- Mega Hike
- Hosting tutorial classes for our members across all levels
- Providing two new public address systems
Under my leadership, we have successfully divided BIOSSA into three distinct Associations, while still operating under the umbrella name BIOSSA:
1. Nigerian Association of Microbiology Students (NAMS) - strictly for Microbiology Students only
2. Ecology Student Forum - strictly for Ecology Students only
3. Biological Science Students Association - strictly for Botany and Zoology students only
To the newly elected executives, I offer my warmest congratulations! May your tenure be filled with even greater achievements and successes. May you continue to build on the foundations we have laid and take our association to new heights.
