WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ZAKAT-UL-FITR?

Zakat-ul-fitr is COMPULSORY on those who can afford it and it is a sin not to give it.

May Allah Accept our Zakat-ul-Fitr as an act of IBADA'AH.

Ramadhān_reminders

How much zakāt al-fitr is and when it should be paid:

It is not permissible to pay the value in money, according to the majority of scholars; this view has the stronger evidence. Rather it must be given in the form of food, as the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) did. This is also the view of the majority of the ummah. We ask Allaah to help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion properly and adhere to it steadfastly, and to guide us, for He is the Most Generous, Most Kind.

[Majmū’ Fatāwa ash-Shaykh bin Bāz, 14/200]

It is also obligatory to give zakāt al-fitr before the ‘Eid prayer, and it is not permissible to delay it until after the ‘Eid prayer. There is nothing wrong with giving it one or two days before the ‘Eid. Hence it is known that the earliest time when it may be given, according to the more correct of the two scholarly views, is the night of the 28th of Ramadhān, because the month may be twenty-nine or thirty days. The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) used to give it one or two days before Eid.

Those to whom it must be given are the poor and needy. It was proven that Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) enjoined zakāt al-fitr as a purification for the fasting person from idle and obscene speech, and to feed the poor. Whoever gives it before the prayer, it is zakāt al-fitr, and whoever gives it after the prayer, it is ordinary charity. This was narrated by Abī Dāwūd and classed as hasan by Al-Albāni in Sahīh Abi Dāwūd.

The estimation of Shaykh Ibn Bāz (may Allāh have mercy on him), who reckoned the weight of zakāt al-fitr as being approximately three kilograms.

This was also the estimate of the scholars of the Standing Committee (9/371).

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn (may Allāh have mercy on him) estimated it in grams as being 2100 grams.

Assalamu Alaikum.
*What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?*

*Maghfirah*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it

*'Afuw*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day

*This is why our Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said that, this is the best Dua to make on Laylatul Qadr:*

*"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee"*
(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)

*O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)"*

So make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily azkar.
Imagine that you are standing on the day of Judgment being held accountable for your deeds, and you're not guaranteed your entry to Jannah.

*Suddenly you find that you have mountains of Hasanat (rewards) in your record*

Do you know from where these mountains of rewards come from?

Because in the Dunya you kept saying : *”Subhanallah wa bihamdih Subhanallahil - adhim”*

_Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:_ *"Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by Al Rahman, (The Most Merciful. One):*
*Subhanallahi wa
bihamdih Subhanallahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme)"*
(📚Bukhari , Muslim)

Can you imagine how much your reward will be multiplied if you share this information about the virtue of this remembrance with your friends and they keep saying it *(Subhanallah wa bihamdih Subhanallahil - adhim)* because you guided them to do good?

*Be the One Who Guides Others to Good Deeds.*

We pray to Allah subhanahu wa Ta'ala to make it easy for us and have mercy on our souls.

*THE RESIDENTS OF PARADISE AND THE RESIDENTS OF HELL ARE NEVER EQUAL*

Allah said,

*(Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise.)* meaning, these two categories of people are never the same with regards to the judgement of Allah, the Exalted, on the Day of Resurrection. Allah said in other Ayat,

*(Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death Worst is the judgement that they make.)*(45:21),

*(And not equal are the blind and those who see; nor are those who believe and do righteous good deeds and those who do evil. Little do you remember!)*(40:58), and,

*(Shall We treat those who believe and do righteous good deeds as corrupters on earth Or shall We treat those who have Taqwa as the wicked)*(38:28) Therefore, Allah asserts that He will honor the righteous and humiliate the sinners, and this is why He said here,

*(It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful.)* that is, they are those who will earn safety and deliverance from the torment of Allah the Exalted and Most Honored.

*Ten Days Of Ramadan Have Passed*

Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan [حفظه الله] said:

❝So let us take account of ourselves regarding these ten days that have passed and how they were spent.

Did we have a concern and pay importance by performing acts of obedience to Allaah, and benefit from them?

So whoever has done good in them and had a concern and paid importance to them then what is upon him is to increase in good deeds and complete what remains of the month.

Whoever was heedless in the ten days that have passed and was lazy then it is for him to repent and to rectify what remains of this month before all of it passes away, and he has not attained anything.❞

*THE COMMAND TO HAVE TAQWA AND TO PREPARE FOR THE DAY OF RESURRECTION*

Allah says⤵️

*(18. O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah and let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.) (19. And be not like those who forgot Allah, and He caused them to forget themselves. Those are the rebellious.) (20. Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise. It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful.)*

Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Mundhir bin Jarir narrated that his father said, "While we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah in the early hours of the morning, some people came there who were barefooted, naked, wearing striped woolen clothes, or cloaks, with their swords hung (around their necks). Most of them, nay, all of them, belonged to the tribe of Mudar. The color of the face of the Messenger of Allah underwent a change when he saw them in poverty. He then entered (his house) and came out and commanded Bilal to pronounce Adhan. Bilal pronounced Adhan and Iqamah, and the Prophet led the prayer. He then addressed them, first reciting,

(O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord, Who created you from a single person... ) (4:1), until the end of the Ayah. Then he recited the Ayah that is in Surat Al-Hashr:

﴿وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ﴾

(and let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow,'') He then said, "A man donated his Dinar, his Dirham,
