Stubborn women are the ones who fail in marriage and in their relationships, even with relatives, and even with their children. The woman who lacks emotional intelligence and flexibility is the most unsuccessful in marriage and life in general.
Why?
1. Because she will engage in constant tug-of-war and follow her ego, as if she's in a war. In reality, she fails against her husband's stubbornness and that of those around her. Men become more stubborn against stubborn wives or sisters and soften against submissive women.
2. A stubborn woman is foolish, thinking that by clinging to her opinion and standing against the storm, she's strong and independent and will win. She forgets that even if she wins an opinion or a stance, she's actually losing a heart that loved her. She forgets that winning hearts is much more important than winning positions.
3. Many narrations, hadiths, and wisdom praise gentle, kind, and affectionate women. This is not in vain; rather, it's the foundation for maintaining affection and mercy.
4. A woman who bends to let the storm pass is a wise (not weak) and intelligent woman who builds a home forever. A woman who stands like a dry stick is the one who breaks and may never be fixed.
5. A stubborn woman who clings to her opinion and believes in the principle of "I win, you lose" destroys herself before destroying others and lives a life full of regret.
6. From my experience in marital counseling, I've found that stubborn women often end up in divorce, failure in their family and social lives, or in illness, depression, and misery.
7. An Arab woman advised her daughter on her wedding night with a wise and proven advice: "Be a servant to him, and he'll be everything you want." Men are kind, generous, and patient, but a stubborn woman turns them into enemies.
For the benefit, there are many stubborn women in our society, and many families have been destroyed, leading to increased divorce and widowhood. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The world is a provision, and the best provision is a righteous wife."
