Delta State Police Apprehends Herdsmen, 56Years Old Notorious Kidnappers' Arms Supplier (Pic):

A Katsina State-born supplier of arms and ammunition to herdsmen and kidnap syndicates in Delta State, has finally been apprehended by operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad, SAKCCS, Delta Command and Eagle Vigilante group, Abraka Market, Asaba.

Commissioner of Police, Delta state, Zanna Ibrahim, who confirmed the arrest of the arms dealer and kidnap linchpin to Saturday Vanguard, said: “His arrest, weekend, is a major breakthrough for us in the battle against killer- herdsmen and kidnappers in the state.”

Why we demolished ``Abraka’’ market — Okowa

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has said that the demolished Abraka Market in Asaba constituted security risk as it was a hideout for criminals involved in heinous crimes.

The governor gave the explanation while fielding questions from newsmen on Saturday after inspecting the demolished market and disclosed that the government had ordered the relocation of the traders in order to nip in the bud, the security challenges posed by the market and give Asaba a facelift.

He assured that the large expanse of land which housed the market would be put into adequate use rather than the illicit activities hitherto going on there.

Okowa warned that anyone that any unauthorized person found there henceforth would be arrested and made to contend with the law.

He advised former traders at the market to relocate as government was strategizing on how to put the hectares of land into good use.

According to the governor, the demolition was not to witch hunt anyone but was a deliberate effort to avoid using the land as den of crime and criminality.

He sued for peace and unity among residents of the state, and assured that his administration would continue to take decisions that would be to the advantage of all.

"The place was such that it was already creating a security problem for us and unfortunately we have found that a lot of people were developing brothels in that place and beyond that, it has become a criminal hide-out and we took that decision at the state security council that we needed to ensure that we are able to secure Asaba.

"And, in our plan to secure Asaba, we agreed that there was the need for the whole of that place to be bulldozed and people there relocated to another part of Asaba; that relocation has already been done and the place has been brought down.

"Now, we are going to think through and see what development we can bring to that place to put it into good use.

"But apparently, the aim for which it was done has already been achieved; we want to put processes in plan, working with various ministries and our Delta Investment Development Agency (DIDA), to see what we are going to put in that place because it's a sizeable land in a prime location that can be used for something useful," he stated.

The governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa and Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, was conducted round the demolished market by the Director-General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Mrs Onyemaechi Mrakpor.

He also inspected the remodeled Koka junction on Benin-Asaba highway, with park and monument, executed by his administration through the Ministry of Urban Renewal and was conducted round the project by the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Chief Arthur Akpowowo.

In July 1915 Sheriff of Mecca, Hussein ibn Ali negotiated with Britain about the revolt against the Ottoman Empire. As a response, the British High Commissioner in Egypt, Sir Henry McMahon, promised that Britain would support Arab liberation once Ottoman control had come to an end.

The revolt began in June 1916, when an army of about 70,000 Arab men, supported by the British and led by Faisal I, attacked the Turkish army. They captured the Aqabahs and cut off the Hejaz railway, an important strategic link on the Arabian Peninsula that stretched from Damascus to Medina.

This allowed British troops to cross into Palestine and Syria. With the capture of Damascus (October 1, 1918), the Turkish Empire in the Middle East came to an end.

Although they promised to support Arab independence, the British took control of Transjordan, Iraq, and Palestine as their own, while France took Syria and Lebanon.

Marcus Garvey was one of the greatest black leaders we ever had. He organized more black people than any other black leader in the world. Marcus Garvey said that black people will never become successful depending on whites or other races of people, he said that as black people we must come together and do for self. I'm going to list some of Marcus Garvey's achievements.

1. Marcus Garvey built factories, and his factories made clothes and they also made black dolls for black kids to play with.

2. He built a hotel.

3. He built a chain of grocery stores.

4. His organization had their own trucking company.

5. He built schools.

6. He built restaurants.

7. His organization had their own printing press.

8. He started 3 newspapers.

9. His main newspaper was called the Negro World, and that newspaper was published in English, Spanish and French.

10. His organization bought 3 ships and they started practicing international trade and commerce.

11. Marcus Garvey's organization owned office buildings.

12. His organization also bought an auditorium in New York, and that's where Garvey did most of his speaking and that place was called Liberty Hall.

13. By 1922 Marcus Garvey organization had 6 million members.

14. His organization had over 900 branches in 40 different countries.

15. Marcus Garvey also started his own political party, and he named it The Peoples Political Party.

16. Marcus Garvey was the first black leader that changed the (mindset) of black people. He taught blacks to love themselves, and he taught us to be proud of the way that God made us.

17. Kwame Nkrumah became the first president of Ghana, and he said that Marcus Garvey was his hero and his biggest influence. Nkrumah named Ghana's shipping line the Black Star Shipping line in honour of Marcus Garvey. He also named Ghana's soccer team the Black Stars.

18. Jomo Kenyatta became the first president of Kenya, and he also said that Marcus Garvey was a major influence on him.

19. Nnamdi Azikiwe became the first president of Nigeria, and said that Marcus Garvey was a major influence on him. He said that reading Garvey's Negro World shaped his view.

20. Julius Nyerere became the first president of Tanzania, and he also said that Garvey's teachings was a major influence on him.

21. Malcolm X parents were members of Marcus Garvey's organization.

22. The honorable Elijah Muhammad the leader of the Nation of Islam praised Marcus Garvey. He said that Garvey was the forerunner and laid the foundation for what the Nation of Islam is doing. He said that they are carrying on the work of Garvey.

23. Marcus Garvey said that his organization employed 1000's of people through the businesses that they created.

Marcus Garvey did all of that without any help from white people or the Government, He did this during a time when there were no televisions or computers." Why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB has false hope of achieving Biafra – Uche Mefor

Former Deputy Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says the seccessionist movement, led by now-detained Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has “false hope” of realising a Biafra Republic, due to its present “criminality”.

Our team reports that Mefor, who has been critical of Kanu, IPOB, and its proponents since their relationship hit the rocks in 2020, said the pro-Biafra group does not respect human rights.

Mefor, who is based the the diaspora, vowed to continue speaking against the activities of IPOB.

“We shall continue to state the obvious. The IPOB faction under Nnamdi Kanu squarely and comprehensively lost the argument when they thoughtlessly and overzealously embraced and adopted violence and brigandage that snawbolled into criminality under the false hope of using it to restore Biafra.

And yes, for them, that criminal conduct transplanted wholesale from Ambazonia, the crime against humanity they have been committing against their own, hurting businesses and violating the human rights of other Biafrans is a master to stroke Biafra Independence.
