Kebbi governor outlines security, infrastructure, agriculture, and social investments in Sallah message
BIRNIN KEBBI — Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Kebbi State and beyond on the occasion of the 1447 AH Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, the governor urged Muslims to use the festival to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding among themselves and with non-Muslims.
“I felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in Kebbi State and beyond on this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, a season of sacrifice, faith, and obedience to Allah,” Gov. Idris said.
“May the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim inspire us to uphold peace, tolerance, and unity across our communities as we celebrate this sacred festival with gratitude and humility.”
The governor said his administration remains committed to sustaining peace in Kebbi State by “strengthening community dialogue, supporting traditional institutions, and promoting mutual respect among all ethnic and religious groups.”
He noted that security remains a top priority, adding: “We will continue collaborating with security agencies and vigilante groups to protect lives, secure farmlands, and restore lasting tranquility statewide.”
Gov. Idris also highlighted ongoing government efforts in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He said the administration is accelerating road, bridge, rural electrification, and water projects to connect communities and boost local economic growth.
On agriculture, he said farmers across the state are receiving “unprecedented support through the distribution of free assorted fertilisers, improved inputs, power tillers machines, extension services, irrigation schemes, and access to markets.”
“As you celebrate Sallah with family, friends, and neighbours, I urge you to remain law-abiding, show compassion to the less privileged, and pray for Kebbi and Nigeria’s prosperity,” he added.
The statement was signed by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kebbi State.
