OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE TRAGIC INCIDENT IN BIU.
Within the week, a tragic incident occurred in my Constituency, Biu, resulting in the unfortunate loss of my younger brother. I have followed developments surrounding the incident closely from the outset, and I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the circumstances that led to this regrettable loss of life.
I have personally reached out to the bereaved family to extend my condolences and express my deepest sympathy over this painful loss. I have also assured them that the matter will be pursued diligently, that all necessary steps will be taken, and that justice will be served without compromise or exception.
Furthermore, I have engaged the relevant security agencies, and the necessary steps are being taken within the provisions of the law to ensure a thorough investigation, establish the facts, and bring anyone found culpable to justice.
Let me state unequivocally that no individual, group, or association is above the law. The loss of a young life is a grave matter that must not be trivialised, politicised, or treated with indifference. I remain committed to peace, unity, accountability, and the rule of law in our Constituency.
It is important to state that, prior to this unfortunate incident, efforts had been ongoing to address the proliferation of support groups and forums within the Constituency. These efforts are aimed at consolidating all support structures under one united platform, the BETARA SUPPORT GROUP, to promote unity, discipline, order, and a common purpose.
This process remains firmly on course. Consequently, all support groups and their activities are hereby suspended until further notice. This directive is necessary to maintain order and ensure that the ongoing consolidation process is concluded in the overall interest of the Constituency.
I appeal to all constituents, supporters, and stakeholders to remain calm, exercise restraint, and cooperate with the relevant authorities as the necessary legal processes proceed. We must not allow this tragic incident to undermine the peace, unity, and collective progress of our Constituency.
