Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Samoa, confirming their place in the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams at the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

It was a performance full of energy and purpose. Queen Joseph shone brightest, bagging a composed brace that set the tone early on.

Captain Shakirat Moshood displayed leadership and confidence, calmly converting from the spot to make it three before halftime.

In the second half, despite Moshood’s second penalty being saved by Samoa’s goalkeeper Ae Grace, Nigeria’s attacking pressure never wavered.

Their persistence paid off in the 67th minute when Oduntan Azeezat added a stunning fourth to cap off a remarkable display.
