"Guidelines on How to Worship God"
The psalmist in Psalms 95:1-11 provides guidelines on how to worship God.
Verse 1 explains that we sing and make a joyful noise unto the Lord; singing and making a joyful noise to the rock of salvation is the object of our worship. God is the rock of our salvation and the object of our worship.
The psalmist also explains that coming before the presence of the Lord with Thanksgiving signifies that every worshipper should have a heart of gratefulness, acknowledging God for his goodness.
Verse 6 explains that worship can be done privately, individually or in a congregation. Worshipping God in a congregation signifies corporate worship.
Furthermore, the Psalmist emphasizes God’s greatness as our Creator, King of the Universe and the Good Shepherd and also linked worship to obedience to God.
Worship is an expression of Praise and adoration unto the Lord for what he has done. A believer’s worship is an essential part of our relationship with God, allowing us to honour, thank and glorify him.
