Prof Ndubuisi Ekekwe writes

“ To Anambra State People: some Abians have mobilized here to buy-out all the next to nothing investments Governor Soludo said Governor Peter Obi made as a governor. At least, Anambra is lucky that the governors there make investments. In my own state, the governor has bragged about attracting KFC and Domino’s pizzas as signs of strategic investments in the state!

Prof Soludo underwhelmed and I am extremely disappointed reading his recent comments on Peter Obi. It was offensive and extremely unfortunate. He wrote and spoke like a lost intellectual, not a professor of economics. In Southeast Nigeria, we used to mock Anambra state that its young people were not going to school, always moving into trading. It was ranked 27th out of 36 in the nation in WAEC and nearly 30th in JAMB.

Magically, within years, Anambra was ranked #1 in WAEC and top-3 in JAMB. For a professor to say that was not an investment must be repudiated. That effort boosted Anambra state literacy rate to 92.11% from less than 60%. All done within 8 years, according to NBS data https://lnkd.in/dXGBumu

Prof Soludo, you need to understand that you are a teacher even as you live in the government mansion. Development is not just about building houses, roads and companies. The biggest investment remains the people. Your state is ranked #1 in the Southeast in education attainment & development today, and that happened because Obi invested in young people when others did not care. Make your point but do not use your position to confuse; certain things should be off politics. You are free to attack Obi, Tinubu, Atiku, etc while promoting your party candidate, but be decent with facts!

Written by Prof Ndubuisi Ekekwe.

We all hear it – if elected governor, I will digitize all state services! And I will bring the productivity excellence of Silicon Valley by creating digital solutions for the citizens. Simply, if we do those things, citizens will experience higher efficiency in governance. I smile – nothing like...

Almost all Nigerians home and abroad, students, elders, pilots, market women, Okada riders and even the educated ones and elites, they all want to identify with Obi, taking pictures and rejoicing over a new Nigeria. Obi may have taken the most pictures ever in history within one month. Our prayer is that this massive love translates to votes. We just have to stand together and kick out our oppressors. We must leave Egypt and we must take over the promised land.

Never Again

Politics Today.

A former classmate sent this message to me. I have been thinking about it. How true are his predictions:

“ Entire North are together for Atiku, entire South East, South South and a great percentage of the West are for Peter Obi.

The West is divided on Tinubu, they would have preferred Osinbajo, truth be told, Tinubu even with the Muslim Muslim ticket cannot pe*****te the North and will not be accepted in the East. This race will be between Peter Obi and Atiku, take it or leave it”

Is there any sense in what he is saying? Share your opinion.

On Nnamdi Kanu,

I want to be clear.

Many think I should either support Kanu or Peter Obi.

They say I talk about Biafra today and speak about Peter Obi the next day.

For them this is a contradiction.

I understand their mindset. But they are not looking at the matter from a dispassionate perspective.

The agitations for Biafra, Oduduwa, etc are the offspring of bad leadership.

If there were good governance in Nigeria,

If laws were followed,

If we had enthroned merit,

If we had eschewed ethnicity, favouritism and ima mmandu,

The agitations we see in different regions would not have come about.

The likes of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho emerged because we enthroned injustice, lawlessness, and incompetence.

Nobody should blame the zeal of Kanu and Igboho.

They are part of millions who are dissatisfied with the system.

Their demands are noble.

Let me reiterate. I am a staunch supporter of Nnamdi Kanu.

I believe in the justice of his cause.

I'm for justice, fairness and equity. I have always defended Nnamdi Kanu because I believe he is a prisoner of conscience.

And I will continue to support Nnamdi Kanu.

What is Kanu's crime?

He called for referendum and secession.

Are these treasonable felonies? No.

Self-determination is a fundamental human right.

If Kanu is guilty, why are Buhari and his parasites protracting his trial?

Why are they buying time?

As far as I am concerned, Kanu has not committed any crime against the state.

If Buhari could negotiate, pardon, rehabilitate and reintegrate terrorists into the society, why is difficult for him to listen to those demanding good governance?

Kanu's demands remain noble.

As for 2023 election, I don't think Obi has a rival when we talk about competence, capacity, character and commitment.

I am a supporter of Peter Obi because I know he is the best in the race.

My principles have not changed. I stand for justice, fairness and equity.

The return of Colonialism and Colonial Mentality.

Will American or British Politicians under any reason travel to Nigeria or any other country to hold meetings on issues concerning their countries?

There’s what we call national dignity, everyone who took our national matter to hold meetings in a foreign land has betrayed our country.

There’s no justification for this action. Disappointed at Elder Statesman Obasanjo he should know better and should have discouraged this.

They can still gather at Otta farm and hold meetings. This is not pre independence era this is 62 years after independence, you still take matters like national elections which bothers on national security to discuss in a london hotel? This is unacceptable.

It reminds of the pre independence meetings in London in 1957 and 1959. Akinloye, Zik, Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa will be turning in their graves seeing our national leaders 62 years later in London discussing Nigeria. One day the federal executive council will also hold its weekly meeting in London. What a shame and a National disgrace.

Question: What Is colonial mentality?
