~ `SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME OF NELFUND TEAM & NANS NATIONAL EXCOS TOWARDS SENSITIZATION PROGRAM ON NELFUND STUDENTS LOAN SCHEME SOUTH SOUTH`~
After an interactive wayforwardness meeting with The University of Calabar Management and SUG President, UNICAL Comr. Blessing Alims on Monday, 9th September 2024. On Tuesday, September 10th, we received the NELFUND delegates from the Federal Government, led by Mr. Sawyer Akintunde, MD/CEO of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and the National Body of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by National President Comrade Lucky Emonefe, alongside NANS Senate President and entourage.
At University of Calabar, they were warmly welcomed by the Cross River State Government through the Deputy Governor office, NANS Joint Campus Council CRS Executives, the Dean of Student Affairs, UNICAL Management & Students Union Government Excos of various Tertiary Institutions.
On Wednesday, 11th September 2024 at UNICAL Senate Chambers were the event was held for sensitization of NELFUND Students loan scheme program which brought onboard a lot of students from various Tertiary Institutions and Public also press to ask questions and get solutions as The NELFUND Managing Director provided valuable information about the 0% interest loan initiative, encouraging student participation.
The NANS President assured students of the President's commitment to their welfare and prosperity, extending gratitude for including All Nigerian Students in the loan scheme.
~ Highly commend the prompt response by the SSA to the President on students' engagement and the delegation for bringing this program to the South South and Cross River State, easing the burden on parents. ~

DAY 4: Faculty of Engineering UNICAL Pioneer Set Final Year Brethren Week Costume Wednesday!π
It was a remarkable experience, as Peace and Conflict Studies (PCS) students embarked on a field trip outside the four walls of the University of Calabar, to have first-hand and practical learning at Adagom 1 refugee settlement, Ogoja, Cross River State, Nigeria. The objectives of the settlement include sustainable housing and enhanced livelihood for transition to early recovery for Cameroon.
Beyond academics, the students preach *PEACE TO HUMANITY* having imbibed love and peace, they also showed empathy to the refugees and helping hands to the management.
This field trip afforded students the opportunity of bringing the classroom to the field.
