Plagiarism involves using someone else's work, ideas, or expressions without proper attribution, presenting them as your own. It can be intentional or unintentional and is considered a serious ethical breach in academic, professional, and creative fields.

Types of Plagiarism:
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word without attribution.

Self-Plagiarism: Reusing your own previously published work without acknowledgment.

Mosaic Plagiarism: Piecing together information from different sources and presenting it as original work.

Accidental Plagiarism: Unintentionally failing to cite sources or misquoting them.

Yesterday someone asked me why do you like using the question " Did you know" instead of "Do you know" in your videos?

However, I gave the person the answer but decided to share it here this morning for all of us to read and learn.

There is difference between the questions "Do you know?" and "Did you know?"

The expression/ the question " Do you know?" is used when we want to get or derive information or facts from others. We ask the question " Do you know?" basically when we don't know the answer to the question we are asking.

Examples:
1.Do you know where I can fix my car?
2.Do you know where the University of Calabar is located?

It is used when you the questioner doesn't know the answer to the question you are asking or when you are seeking information about a place, something or an idea you know nothing about. In fact, it is used when we want to receive, acquire or seek information.

While, "Did you know?" is used when we want to give out or share information, facts or ideas about what we know but believe others may not know.

Moreover, we ask the question "Did you know?" when we already know the answer to question we are asking but want to share it with others.

Examples:
1. Did you know that there are 24 consonant sounds in English language?
1. Did you know that the word "staff" doesn't take the "s" plural marker?

In summation, "Do you know" is used for seeking, acquiring and receiving information or for making enquiry whereas " Did you know" is used for sharing information, facts or ideas.
